We're up against the meat of our schedule & now that we've seen our boys through good and bad, how do y'all think we'll do? 1st 5 we're 4-1 so...

OU - L - I don't think our O can keep up
BU - W - Close game
OSU - W - Gundy's a man....with a mullett
WVU - L - Too much firepower
TTU - W - 50/50 game, but our D prevails
ISU - W - close game until 4th
KU - W - It's not basketball season yet

I have us going 9-3 or 8-4 depending on TTU. Not making the magical 10 wins but definitely a respectable season and another step in the right direction.

We could also derail and drop the next 5 straight but I don't think that's likely.

Good Lord do you think it's possible that Kyler Murray is better than Baker Mayfield? Serious question I really have doubts that we can slow them down enough to win this year.

I'm hesitant to say yes here but through 4 games this year he's been damn good and he's more accurate on his deep balls than Mayfield was Imo.

Few thoughts.

1. To date the best team blOwU has faced is UCLA, think about that for a moment. This is not battle tested group. On Saturday, Texas will be by far the most talented team they will face all year. So far their defense hasn't faced a good offense. ISU has the 127 ranked offense, UCLA has 107, and Baylor has the 26th ranked offense, but when look at their schedule you have to ask why is it so low.

The best defense they faced was ISU and again when you see who ISU has played so far you have to ask why is it ranked so low.

2. Oklahoma's defense is ranked 20th but isn't necessarily the best defense Texas will face. TCU who has played Texas and Ohio State actually is better defensively. The Texas offense should be able to both move the ball and score on this team. It will be disappointing if Texas can't score more than 30 pts against them.

3. Oklahoma's vs. the Texas defense. This is where the rubber meets the road. Can Texas stop Kyler Murray? It's no secret that Texas has trouble stopping athletic QBs. Again, what I look at is matchups and when matching up the Oklahoma receivers to the Texas DBs it comes down to the fact that the Texas DBs have faced a TCU passing attack with faster more dangerous receivers. They are without their best RB an advantage to Texas as he is really good. When I look statistically at the defenses they have faced, it's a combination of good offense crushing bad defenses. Texas again will be the best defense they face until TCU.

I like our chances in this game. We are not a 13 pt dog to them, if anything Texas should be favored. The game was close last year and that was with a better offense and defense than they have this year. Don't be fooled by their ranking and being undefeated, they have done nothing to deserve that ranking.

That's more like it! :)

The only thing I take exception to is the bolded part.

If Marquise "hollywood" Brown get's one step, and I mean just one step, on a defense, it's over. I'm serious, the guy is lightening in a bottle. He's like "wow".

But he is on the small side, and I know your D-backs are "physical" (they grab more than a drunk co-worker at a christmas party), so you might be able to slow him down.

One thing is for sure. It's going to be a freaking dog fight in the Cotton Bowl. Some real nasty s*it.

And they hit like Tyson. I’m expecting a close game and hopefully doesn’t come down to a field goal for us to win it.

In MY opinion, Kyler is a lot better than Baker. He slings it short and deep with accuracy, very good pocket presence, and can run like his hair's on fire.
Cons:
Baker runs like a scared white chick in stilettos.
Kyler, short & gets frustrated fairly easily.

That's been our mantra since we lost to Maryland.
Many of us drank the offseason juice and had Maryland as a gimme.....we lost. Had Tulsa as a gimme, should have lost. Swore USC & TCU would mop the floor with us, won with room to spare. Declared KSt a done team at the half, damn near gave it away in the 2nd half.

So without further ado, OU is gonna destroy Texas! We have zero chance and shouldn't even make the trip to the cotton bowl! Kyler Murray becomes yet another rescued homeless QB that wins the Heisman for ou in route to a championship.
That should just about cover it.

Just make sure he doesn't go up against Boyd. That guy is a lock down, deep ball defending beast.
Seriously, please pass this on to your OC........PLEASE.

I suspect our defense will give OU all they want, but our offense is no great shakes. Of course, we can always pray for a few "what ifs"....like, what if Ingram comes into this game at 100%?....what if Sam suddenly out of nowhere can actually deliver accurate passes?

yeah, I know....kind of like....if worms carried pistols, birds wouldnt f*ck with em....

Lol.. that's funny as hell oldhorn.

Although the UT's offense may not be great, it's running attack appears to be at least capable, and that's enough to terrify OU fans.

Iowa State, Army and Baylor all ran successfully against our front seven, and I have to think TX will try to run at least 30 or 40 times this Sat, using SE (who's a big mf) to keep the chains and clock moving, and to keep murray and co. off the field.

And if OU can't stop the run (again), we could easily lose this game. UT's secondary and defensive line are probably good enough to keep OU to around 30 points, and we just gave up 33 to Baylor.

I think OU probably prevails, but it will be close enough so that a bad turnover, or big special teams play could change that. Scary game.

Dude, he’s been incredible. I was wrong about him. Teams just don’t lose a Heisman and #1 pick and then get a better player the next year. Just doesn’t happen...ever.

I don’t think it will be long before he is up with Oakland. The guy is just a world class athlete. I’ll bet he’s a badass hoopster and whatever else he wants to dominate at.

Kyler may be playing better than Baker, but he doesn't have the maturity. If Texas is to beat OU, it will be because we get to him.

If we play as good as we've been playing, I see us beating everyone except OU and WVU. If we catch either of those teams on the right day, we might beat one of them. 9-3 is a good bet and that would be an AMAZING season for us considering where we have been.

4-1 top 10 class. STOP BITCHING. The train is leaving the station. Get on or do us a favor and lay on the tracks.

I have to add this.

Every time I see Kyler I think, how does that small skinny neck hold up that massive melon of a head, and when he puts his helmet on he looks like a charms blow pop running around out there. That is one big bulls-eye for our linebackers. I predict we lose at least 1 linebacker and one Dlinemen to the targeting rule.

you know?....sometimes you have to give it up for the other guy. I dont see the point of going full blown aggy on him. Murray can play...I have heard so many rediculous things said about him that I am embarrassed. ....he wont be able to pass....he wont be able to
stay healthy...wow!...Fact is we dont know how he will react to pressure since he is so damned good at not himself get pressured.

his biggest problem and the one he will never be able to overcome is that OU sucks

You’re probably right about the maturity part. Mayfield showed a lot of poise in the pocket his last year compared to his previous years. I have been really impressed with what Murray has done so far and when he gets loose to run is pretty dang fast. Reminds me of Mike Vick type of fast

Son, you must not have watched many OU games. Fan for over 60 years. First RRS in '57, Royal's first year. I think this is the best set of receivers OU has ever had. And Murray can sling it. Mike's D, on the other hand.. .

I don't know if this will help us any but in matchup of dc's TX definitely had the edge.

hits like Tyson?....thats almost an insult...had you said hits like Lewis, or Marciano, or Frazier. or Foreman that comment would have carried some weight. At least those guys were the real deal.

You've GOT to be kidding right? Tyson is right up there and almost certainly at the top of hardest hitters in boxing history. Not saying he was the best, but hardest....hell yes.
Mike Tyson
Sonny Liston
George Foreman
Rocky Marciano
Joe Lewis
Jack Dempsey

I'll say it. Nobody could touch Mike Tyson in his prime. I mean nobody. And pure punching power? Holy crap. This little man absolutely crumbled men twice his size with one punch, and he did it early and often.

What was that game called? Can't seem to remember...oh it was George Foreman Punch....no no, that wasn't it....oh yeah it was Lennox Lewis P....wait....oh yeah, of course it was MIKE TYSON PUNCH OUT. Lol

You musta got your Degree at Nigeria High, go post on the AGGSY BB! Over here talking that shit get ya in trouble fast!

Jesus you’re a moron. The dude said fate would give us a win if we keep saying we’re going to lose.

I grew up just over the harbor bridge and recall beating Flour Bluff’s ass in soccer and football every year. BTW does Flour Bluff still have the nation’s highest teen pregnancy rate?

Funny you say this, I said the exact same thing about Texas. This is the best receiving corp Texas has ever had, that includes the years we had the Big 3 and 2008 when we had Quan and Ship. This is definitely a game where you take the over, I fully expect Texas to have 7 scoring drives 4 Tds and 3 FGs. I see you guys moving the ball well but, bogging down in the Red zone when coverage becomes tighter.
