Rising transfering....

They should compete in the Spring and then decide. Sam is an injury away and Shane isn't the ideal backup. If Rising makes any progress at all then hed #2 easily. Or so I'd think.

That’s the thing. I don’t think he wants to compete for #2. He wants to go somewhere and start. He thinks that because Herman likes a QB that can run he will always be passed up by better runners.

The days of waiting your turn are over. If you don’t have a clear path to start you move on. Like I said earlier, this gives more reps to Johnson which might be a blessing in disguise.

As someone in the blogshere observed, 'With present transfer rates you need 2 QBs in every class which in turn ensures at least one from every class will transfer.'

Every player got the chance to play! He didn't have a lot of dead weight sitting ,
you come to Texas to play or ya wouldn't be there if ya wasn't good enough

Hook;em,

Actually not true. In the days before scholarship limits, college coaches, including Royal, would put kids on 'ships to keep them from going to rival schools and they rode the pine just so they would have to compete against them.

Your probably right MM! Can't remember every detail, at least we didn't let a Heisman Trophy winner transfer to another school, scholarship limits is the key word here then, don't think he would keep 5 QB at one time, but might with the limit, I guess MB didn't know that he could have that many

DKR, a quarterback himself, recruited many/year. They played safety, WR, etc.

Hook;em,

Tom Brady was 7th string when he first got to Michigan. After redshirting, he took 20 pass attempts combined in his freshman and sophomore seasons. Was he not good enough or dead weight? Or was he simply behind Brian Griese?

It's not very complicated. If these young QBs see Ehlinger has two years remaining, Beauchele possibly not going anywhere and Johnson coming in, they might be doubting ever seeing the field. It isn't because they're dead weight, it's that someone else might be better.

I just can't see come to Texas when they in HS and you can play QB or do you say, You might can play QB or Your gonna sit on the Pine all the Time, thats sort of a deceiving sell to a HS Kid, now if it was me, I will come to your school if I can play, I know I am good enough to start after I learn ya plays, if not then FU I am gonna go where I can start and come back here and beat ya ass in FB..LOL! Thats what happen to the Aggies! A Heisman trophy winner riding the bench at Aggieville...LOL
