I had a friend, he was a urologist. Before that, he went to Rice on Navy ROTC. Went to Marines after grad, then UDT. Then he decided to go to med school. He was in Vietnam as a GMO. He thought the Turks were the most feared. He said they caught a slicky boy thieving. Hammered a rebar rod from one ear to the other, then hung the body up on their gate.
Could not be more serious. Of course I am talking about South Korean troops, but you can ask around.....the safest duty in Vietnam was as a liason to a ROK unit. You would not be shot at. Those guys practiced total war at a midevil level.
The collateral damage beyond Ukrainian borders is rearing its ugly head. It isn’t even winter and energy is already out of control. I can’t tell you which countries in Europe are or are not affected, but regardless, it is a very sad thing. Pray for these people gentlemen.
