Somebody PLEASE Convince Me

Lots of good inside this thread so I’ll just add that I know a lot of very well regarded physicians and EVERYONE of them are advocates for the vaccines and have each taken it as soon as it was available to them.

Scheduled to get my Covid Vax today.

Still not sure if I should do so.

I would sincerely appreciate any physician's opinions.

Thanks

Im 50. I will get the vaccine. Anyone over 65 should get it.
But the idea that no scientists are skeptical is wrong. I’ve seen many biologists say that there could be long term effects. Probably not, but definitely possible. There is just no way to know. Chances are low enough that it is definitely worth it to me. But maybe not to young people.

At my age, there ain't no such thang as long term.

I'm very appreciative of the advice.

Believe it or not, among all the bullshit slung around Orangebloods, one fact remains, we are a family.

I just hope it doesn't make my pecker grow.
Just make sure you get the Pfizer vaccine, and you can get a two for one with Viagra.

But seriously, and I don't mean this to be an ass, but at your age, why would you not get it. If you do have side effects, most of which are mild to simply an annoyance, they sure beat death. I have a comorbidity in that I take immunosuppressive medicine and will have to for life. I am 47, and I'd much rather be alive than not. Go for it bud, we like having you around.

Now, can I get a Big Green Egg for my poignant advice? ;)

I'm curious, what are the potential long term side effects of a vaccine?

I've only heard 2 things to watch out for mentioned from credible sources: the potential for an allergic reaction, and the potential you receive a live virus.

What else is realistically on the table?

And what's the survival rate of the vaccine?

Oh, 100%?

Logic says you take the vaccine.
Dude if you want to get it, get it. I’d rather catch Covid and recover then have some crazy neurological issue or cancer down the road. But good luck. Tbh none of us know the right way to go here, even the medical experts. We will find out for sure in a few decades I guess

Why should you get the vaccine? Well you may have a bad covid experience and have all body systems wrecked. Or you might die.

get the vaccine

Life is a gamble of percentages.

I plan on taking it because if I can’t handle the vaccine the real thing would really doom me.

The current vaccines on the market are not live virus. They are mRNA vaccines which are not live virus.

I feel sorry for your family and friends since they have to text you in complete sentences. I guess being an English teacher is a job you obviously take home with you

Oooh, what a burn! What do you have against English teachers?

I don’t recommend your plan B. I mean, it was not the worst thing I’ve ever been through, but effectively being a leper is not enjoyable.

Not a thing. I love English teachers. But this a freaking message board!!! There was no reason to make the comment except that you didn’t like what I had to say

Well you are just part of the system mahnnnn. Probably paid off by Bill Gates to peddle his brain chips. You probably think chemtrails are fake, the earth is round and Cade Brewer isn't an elite TE.

You nailed it.

Now- sarcasm and winks aside, get the vaccine.

But what if you catch covid and die?

Or what if you catch covid and that leads so someone else catching covid and dying?

So far no one has died from this vaccine, but your logic is that you'd rather RISK DEATH or OTHER'S DEATHS than take a vaccine because of some potential stuff 50 years from now.

don’t ever think short term, always think long term. You don’t know what the long term effects will be. People are walking into this blindfolded. On a virus that has a super high chance of survival. Sorry but no thanks.
My wife had a mild case at the end of June and first of July...2 days of fever, GI and body aches. Smell still isn’t back, hair is falling out and we have thought she was having a heart attack twice. Thorough checkup from cardiologist and it appears this is simply post Covid residual.

99.7% will survive, but with what side effects. Same can be said of vaccine but it saves the potential on the front end.

I will not get a vaccine until enough people have taken it to assure me it's safe. I read this week almost 40% of health care workers are waiting for the same reason.

@El Cucuy

Start this video at the 2 min mark. It's DR Fauci literally telling you why these vaccines are safe, and how there are basically not chances of crazy long term effects from it down the road that we don't already know about.

That's 100% not true.

I hear you man. Don’t think this hasn’t crossed my mind I just know too many people who have had mild cases and there are so many ways to fight this now. I know people who are so unhealthy -that I knew they were doomed -pull through without a problem. Hey it’s still a free country for the time being. We are free for now to make our own decisions. If you are vaccinated then you don’t have worry about whether I take it or not. I respect your opinion on this though because maybe you’re right. BUt for now I’d rather take my chances

Im generally not a “glass half empty” guy, so I’m not one to think the vaccine will give me cancer, but you do you. Sorry I triggered you.

Triggered me? Please. I triggered you because I put a period where you didn’t want it put.
