I brought this up in the Michelin thread, but thought I would focus this discussion here:
Went today with my son, who is in his first semester here on campus. Anyways, here is what we had:
Brisket (10/10)
Pork Belly Burnt Ends (9/10)
St. Louis Ribs (9/10 - spicier than I preferred, but loved the sweet and smokiness. Extremely tender, cooked perfectly
Prime Rib (Wednesday special, 10/10)
Tater Tot casserole - 10/10
Corn Casserole/Pudding - 9/10
Brussel Sprouts - best I've had; loved the serrano glaze
Needless to say, I think this was better than Truth (I'm from Houston). I really enjoyed all of it. The Brisket was from the lean end and it was fall apart tender and had a really great smokiness to it.
Next time I'm going to try to Beef Rib to compare it to Killen's.
Many of you said La Barbecue is better so I will be hitting that next time I'm in Austin - maybe KY weekend.
The place was packed but we probably only waited in line for 10 minutes - they seem to do a great job of keeping that line moving.
