TEAM NOTES
• Texas’ becomes the first Big 12 team defensively since 2006, and just the 10th in league history, to hold all conference opponents under 30 points in their league slate. The Longhorns also did so in 2001 and 2005.
• After having 175 yards on 11-of-15 passing in the first quarter, Texas’ defense held Texas Tech to 9-of-30 for 148 passing yards over the final three quarters.
• Texas’ 10 pass breakups are a season-high. They previously had seven at Iowa State on Sept. 28.
• Texas held Texas Tech to 62 yards rushing. It was the seventh time this season (fifth in Big 12 play) they’ve held an opponent under 100 yards rushing in a game, most since doing so 10 times in 2009.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
LB Malik Jefferson
• Led the team with 10 tackles, his sixth game this season in double digits.
• Had eight solo tackles and now has 79 on the season. He could become the first player since 2014, and just the second since 1996, to register 80 solo tackles in a season.
P Michael Dickson
• Punted nine times and averaged 50.9 yards per punt. Seven of those were downed inside the 20.
DB DeShon Elliott
• Had six solo tackles in the game and a career-high four pass breakups.
WR Armanti Foreman
• Capped off the first drive of the game with a 27-yard touchdown reception to reach 1,000 receiving yards in his career.
• Finished with a team-high five catches for 78 yards and the score.
LB Gary Johnson
• Had seven tackles and a career-best 2.5 tackles for loss in the game.
K Joshua Rowland
• Made a career-high three field goals in the loss.
WR Collin Johnson
• Caught four passes and now has 51 on the season, just the 24th Longhorn in school history with 50 receptions in a season.
DB Kris Boyd
• His second quarter INT, his second of the season, was returned 44-yard to set up a Texas touchdown to take a 17-10 lead.
• Recorded a career-high five pass breakups against the Red Raiders. He reached his previous carer high of three against Iowa State in 2015 and 2017.
DB Davante Davis
• Registered his first interception of the season in the second quarter. It was his second career pick (also at WVU in 2015).
