Texas Recruiting

Yeah, as a once commit, then de-commit, those guys tend to not come back. He also tweeted “Always remember who has the power”.
I hate to see a talent like that get away though. Match him up with the upcoming talented qb’s, X-man Worthy and Sarks play calling, could be deadly.
If your a skill player… not sure why you wouldn’t come play for Sark.

I really don't like incoming freshman tweeting something like that. Competitive spirit is one thing but that reeks of gross arrogance. Where does it stop? Players extorting the coaching staff?

I think you can trace a lot of these cases to the NIL rule. Look at that kid Quinn Ewers. And there will be more and more Quinn Ewers in the future. In this case I think he's concerned about the money than anything else. And I agree he is a quitter.

Yet these are the type of guys you need to compete with the Ohio St and Bama's of the world. Hold your nose and root for the team. OU has been doing it for years and it seems to work out for them.

The thing I don't get about him is he knew he wasn't going to play this year at Ohio State. So what's the point in leaving and missing out on a chance to win a state championship?

I have a different view on the guys who opt out of meaningless bowl games though. I can see that because that could potentially cost you millions of dollars if you're going to be a first round pick.

Because Ewers signed a million dollar NIL deal which you can't do if you are still in high school. In short, he got PAID! In fairness I don't think I would pass it up either.

Stay in high school and go to the prom or go to college, get a mil, and bang college chicks? Tough decision.

He's from Southlake Carroll. His parents are well off and i'm sure money isn't an issue. Those college girls aren't going anywhere. I played college ball for 2 years before I blew my knee out and transferred to Texas to finish up my degree. My high school years were some of the most fun times I look back on and remember. I never had the honor of playing for a state championship in high school but I could imagine that is something you would never forget.

Now with that being said I could understand it if he would have went before fall camp started and had a chance to play this season.

I imagine it went something like this.

NIL guy - "Hey Quinn, if you leave high school early and ink with Ohio St. I'll give you a $1,000,000 NIL deal. If you don't jump now then I can't promise you that it will be there later because we might give it to someone else".

And I don't care how much money his parents have. This is a million bucks in his bank account, not his parents. He can stroll into any car dealership and get whatever he wants, blow a few thousand at the strip club, wipe his ass with hundreds if he wants to, and mommy a daddy can't say anything.

It will probably end up a train wreck though.

Agree. That's a pretty accurate assessment.

And I am just saying I think it's a bad decision is all. I agree with all of what you said. It's robbing these kids of memories is what I hate to see the most.

It may not be popular among fans and coaches, but if your a top level recruit. Not playing your senior year probably is a good call. You’ve got a lot on the line.

If his "remember who has the power" was in reference to consumers and or people that decide if you play or not, then he was right on.

I'm thinking it probably wasn't either of those things.

And he's probably not even 18 yet. These $million kids are going to have to have a bullseye on their back and Ewers is to cocky and spoiled to understand this.

Go ask JT Tuimolau about the tOSU/OR game. He's from the PNW and it was personal for OR and they treated him like a broken toy. I was happy for them.

A Panhandler in the fold! Great to see from this X Panhandler!
I thought he might go to OSU be close to home. Happy to have him
I look at Worthy and this kid and I guess our coaches like skinny receivers. Alright by me just score tds.

Sark likes speed. It just so happens a lot of speedsters are skinny
I'm sorry I can't remember his name offhand but a couple days ago I read that there is a 4* iol out there who's a GA lean but he's going to be a guest at the game. I know it's not Devon Campbell but imagine you know his name.

I think you are referring to Evan Stewart. 5* WR out of Frisco. I think he is top TX recruit all positions and 8th top national recruit. That would be an incredible get. He was committed, then decommitted, but will be attending the Tx/ou game

Man if we can some how pull in Devon Campbell that would be awesome! That dude is an absolute monster!

I posted an article about him on here about him "quitting" his team and no longer playing with the team

Oh, that guy. Yes I remember. Unless, there is information we don’t know surrounding the issue, that isn’t good.
