Yep. There is a lot of negative recruiting on Texas right now. From the weakness of the big 12, to many other things. You don’t think Jumbo and Lincoln aren’t going in to living rooms and going “yeah Sark is great but Texas will want to fire him by October look what they did to the last two guys”. Justified or not it doesn’t matter the relatively quick hook on Herman is being used by rival coaches.
The good news is Satk can erase a lot of that by winning early and getting some post I’ve momentum going. Something Herman was never really able to do

Exactly. "Yeah, you can go there, but the coach will be fired before you're gone." I'm sure Sarks past has been brought up plenty as well.

Saban's first class wasn't even top 10, then had a couple top 5 classes and then won the natty. Now they're a machine.

Sark and staff have to win. You don't pull 5*/elite 4* just because you feel like you should. The kids want to win, period.

Yeah. I would hope people aren’t bribing up sark’s past, but you are right it’s probably come up. To Sarks credit though he’s willing to face it head on and address it. A lot of respect for that.

We are always the main target of negative recruiting. Sark better find a way to get Xavier Worthy on the field to stretch the defenses. One thing I like about Sarkesian, he knows how to grind, flank, and frustrate defenses. I think he has the pieces to do it. Unlike Herman who always forced a square peg into a round hole by insisting on calling inside zone read ad nauseum, Sarkesian knows how to coach and call an offense. We need our QB to be a surgeon. If the QB is good, we have a shot at the B12 title game.

Bryce Anderson opted for another team. Thought he would have picked the Horns.
Guess it's better to lose out on a db rather than a big ole lineman though.

Sark has spent most of his career figuring out ways to get elite playmakers the ball, and turning them in to stars. I don’t think we will see with Sark what we saw with Herman where guys would be making plays and then he wouldn’t see the ball the rest of the game.

Did he commit to tamu? That's a miss, but not a killer. There 4* DBs like him in every class. That's not to say he isn't elite, or that he isn't good enough because he is both. I'm just saying there will be 8-10 more in next years class we will need to get.

Now, if we miss on guys like him for 3-4 classes in a row, that is a problem.

I guaran-damn-tee Fatterson brings it up. Too many recruiters are snakes man...of course they don't say "that guy is a drunk" but I would imagine it's more subtle...like "you know, there are some coaches from other schools you're considering that have had shaky personal pasts...now we all deserve to learn from our mistakes, but I also have to ask, would I want MY son to go there..."

Shit like that.

Oh I’m sure. Jokes on Patterson though. His days of even getting a sniff from the top dudes from Texas are just about over.

Sark needs to hire a couple of elite recruiters better than Carrington type guys and pay them because this staff has missed on to many upper end recruits this cycle although this class is very solid and if you go to the roster there is a lot of young talent on the team.

A&M is selling the idea that they have had more time to develop elite lines on both sides of the ball and are in great shape with Bear and a couple of others to add to the depth of those lines. Hopefully the young QB's that A&M have in addition to several teams in the SEC having had now 1 to 2 seasons under new staffs make them tougher outs for A&M.

While I like Haynes I think he will cost A&M 2 perhaps 3 games. Both qb possibilities for A&M are not Mond right now and to me Mond was an incredibly over rated collegiate qb. Good athlete decent qb but not a great qb by any honest evaluative standard.. A couple of elite recruiters and a good start to the season and recruiting might very well take a favorable turn.. Fingers crossed..

Struggling maybe but it takes one good season. Again, the Big 12 is down right now so maybe coaching can make a big difference and win 9-10. There is still more talent on Texas than anyone else except OU. Sark just needs to get them to play. He doesn’t have what he had at Alabama but Alabama was above everyone in talent. Texas is above everyone as well besides OU. Remember that Texas is still in uncertain grounds here. Yes the SEC has been announced but when is still up in the air although most of us know it will be next year. Sark hasn’t proven anything but winning AND jumping to the SEC after announcement will help. A&M is fixing to land a VERY nice class here. There is a lot of momentum. They need to capitalize as well this year and then recruiting will be very competitive with both schools.

They have elite recruiters. Saban's first class at Bama was ranked 12th. They have to win. We're not getting top 50 kids this year. They have to get what they can get this year, win and then mop the floor with other schools from there on out.
 
What can you tell me about this iol Devin Campbell? He's a 5* prospect and it looks like he's a shoe in for us? Can you imagine a 5* ol coming here?

If Sark can get some wins under his belt recruits will start rolling in. His track recored, coaching talent and this coaching staff’s track recored of coaching talent is second to none. He just needs to show he has the program on the right footing

Jaray Bledsoe committed. He is a very good player. Grades are the only concern. But everyone qualifies these days. He can really move for a 6'4 270 pounder. Played low level competition last year, but a plus athlete. Bo Davis is the best recruiter on staff.
 
Sark puts up a few wins early I think recruits will start to roll in. Too many questions about Texas right now for kids to commit IMO. Kids start to see some wins pop up and know we won’t be talking about Sarks job next year I think you’ll see commits start to pick up

Looks like they just picked up another one 4 star edge rusher J’mond Tapp #9 prospect in the state of Louisiana. Picked Texas over LSU, Bama and A&M. Really good day for Bo Davis

He’s expected to enroll early. Grades are not a problem.

Yeah Bledsoe also picked Texas over Bama and aggy. Nice to see us winning some against Bama.
