Texas Recruiting

It’s also rumored that Quinn Ewers’ first day of team workouts on Monday resulted in him throwing up. Not sure if that’s good or bad.
In high school, no matter how much work we would put in over the summer, it was never enough because 1st day of two-a-days was always rough. However, in Quinn Dirt’s case something tells me that money, girls and partying may have more to do with it.

You may be right. Although my hope is that he was so motivated and excited to get himself in the best shape possible that he pushed himself to the limit and threw up.

For all the crap this staff took during the season. Some deserved and some not. What they have done in recruiting and in the portal to build this roster back up has been amazing

I know people don’t want to hear this but I really think CDC brought sark here to rebuild this program and get it ready for SEC football. I don’t think he brought him here expecting national titles right away.

I agree. Sark has even said multiple times about how he will change up the roster. He said there would be 33 new faces next year. He's delivering. He said he had a lot of work to do both in culture and mind set. He said he would get kids here that wanted to play here and wanted to win. He said CDC had promised him time to get this right. This was a great hire and yes I say that after a 5-7 season.

Yeah last season sucked no denying that, but in all honesty I don’t care who the coach was. This was probably. a 7-5 to 5-7 team. That’s just what the roster was imo

I remember you clamoring last years team to possibly be a 10 win team??

I said they could of been yeah. I predicted 8-4 though

they weren’t that for off from 9-10 wins really they were very capable of winning the OU, Baylor and Ok state game. Just didn’t execute. I think if they had held on to those Kansas and WVU are probably wins

Please let this happen. The Aggie tears would be delicious.
It isn't Aggie tears at least not for me. Well probably resume our rivalry with them next year. What would be sweet for me is a Stony Clark kind of ending. You remember that game? 4th and goal, less than a minute to play, ahead by only a few points, only this time it's Harold Perkins.

That would make my day for the next 10 years.

Our spies on Twitter and Reddit are reporting that Harold Perkins and Isiah Neyor are coming in for a visit this weekend. Apparently Perkins has not signed his LOI with Aggie and isn’t making a final decision until February 2. The word is we’re still being considered along with Florida. The chances are probably still slim but it’s encouraging that he’s paying us another visit.

Same thing with Neyor. He’s the transfer WR from Wyoming who previously committed to Tennessee but hasn’t yet enrolled.
Are you talking the same Harold Perkins that is playing in the Polynesian Bowl this weekend in Hawaii? You might want to have some spies that know who is playing in that game. Harold is taking a mid week visit to LSU next week and then Miami on the weekend. Dude is capitalizing on some free visits. I don't blame him, but I also never trust an 18 year old with multiple offers of NIL money on the table. This is how kids are rolling these days. There is never a lock.

Since he's declared for the draft I would like to say thank you to Cameron Dicker. From the class of 2018 he's been the only consistent player. There might be a couple players coming back for a 5th year but I doubt if they can elevate their play from a year ago.

He's not a true punter but when Ryan Bujkevski's career was ended after a second knee injury Cam took on double duty and did a good job. I know we signed a kicker this class but I can't remember his name. And it appears that Issac Pearson
will be our next Australian punter.

But when I think of Cam I will always be grateful for 10/6/18. RRS. 4th down score tied 13 seconds to go. Gus Johnson's classic call.

Earthquake!!
Dicker the kicker!!

Good guys 48
Bad guys 45

Hookem Cameron Dicker you earned your horns.

The whole Neyor thing is interesting. He I guess wasn’t just committed to Tennessee. He was enrolled. Wonder why the sudden bout face? NIL? Did he finally realize hey wait Texas has a 5 star QB, a WR coach who just coached the best WR in the country last year and a HC who has put several WR’s in the league? Was it all that? Really interesting turn of events.

Bru McCoy was enrolled here wasn't he?

This is what it is now...NIL, transfer portal, etc. It will eventually happen to every school.

M Williams choosing elsewhere gave Neyor a clear path for starting opposite XW.

Just heard Jaylen Moody decided to stay at Alabama. Is this tru
I heard the same thing. I also hear that the Georgia safety is staying until Saturday. We should hear his decision very soon. Apparently it's between us and Arkansas.

I think with Moody we just told him that we don't have room. After Neyor, Campbell, and Mathis I think we only have one spot left and they hope to use it on the Georgia safety. I also think that Dicker was encouraged to go pro so they could free up another scholarship.

Dicker going pro doesn’t change the numbers. You can only take 37(I think) new players for the year. Dicker leaving doesn’t change the numbers on that

I have heard that the number is 32 or 33. 25 per class + 7 portal transfers (one time thing this year). Whatever the number is I think Sark will make it work if there is a "got to have" player available.

It matters for getting to 85 by the fall. Texas 8&4feit has to trap door around 15 guys before the 22 season to get down to 85.

There will probably be several transfers after spring. For one and I could be wrong but Card sticking around if Quinn looks good would be some what surprising

Please, please eject the entitled titty babies from hermie n crew. I have a feeling exposure to Gary Patterson for some of these snowflakes is going to be traumatic.

I can’t wait to weed the cry babies out and get some real men in here that want to win football games. I liked Sarks strategy of going to winning programs in the state and recruiting kids that know how win. Get kids that have had success before and know how to handle it and try to flip that culture within the locker room.

Patterson can’t directly interact with players as an on the field coach in his role.

If he can’t process well enough to beat out Casey T who is gonna try to recruit him into the portal?

I can’t believe how many Texas fan’s have love affairs with freahman QBs. Card is a freshman and wouldn’t beat out most D1 upperclassmen. Casey is obviously much better than you give him credit for. I have a feeling many grown men on here and elsewhere will weep when our newest freshman QB doesn’t deliver the goods. The giant weight of Texas Longhorn football should not be on the shoulders of any freshman. Card will be just fine next year or the year after

I think we should start looking at something besides 4 or 5 Star player, KState showed me that with Vaughn, being from Round Rock, man that was a miss, That was Pop Snyders thing, and they still are doing it, and the Brock Boys , he knocked us down when didn't get them and the 5 Star QB, this guys a crazy guy for sure on building a team...
Many times schools recruit on measurements and not on competiveness and heart. So, at the end many can't tackle or do not like hit or be hit by others with their same talent or more.
