Texas sophomore receiver DeAndre McNeal has been suspended for violating team rules, according to my sources.

McNeal landed in trouble sometime last week, but I am still working on details about the incident. He received the suspension on Wednesday, only a few day before fall practice is slated to begin.

Last week, we were informed McNeal was in trouble, but we have been able to confirm the details. We heard rumors McNeal might be dismissed from the team. However, my sources told me today that he received an indefinite suspension. Obviously, if McNeal is at this point, he is walking a thin line with Strong, who typically tries to give players chances before dismissing them.

McNeal was expected to compete for playing time this season. He had the opportunity to be in a rotation of receivers expected to be utilized a lot because of Sterlin Gilbert's offense.

Instead, McNeal's main focus will be staying out of trouble in order to remain at UT.
