According to Lyndsey Graham, four agents traveled to Russia and interviewed Christopher Steele's sole source. They showed him the dossier. He responded that the information he provided Steele was rumor and hearsay... in some cases bar talk. He said it never should have been used in an official report.
And yet the DOJ used the dossier at least twice more to extend the FISA warrant on Carter Page.
And there are those on this board who still defend the dossier.
