NEW COMMITMENT
Like clockwork … I post the Friday Refresh on Friday morning, and that afternoon Texas picks up a commitment. It happened for the third consecutive week last week when Yaheim Riley announced his commitment to Texas. The Austin Anderson standout and former Houston commitment had been a strong Texas lean ever since the Longhorns offered in late March and he made it official on Friday with a public announcement of his commitment.

Recent Texas offer Landon Barnes took an unofficial visit to Texas on Sunday and he told OB following that trip that things went very well. Texas moved up his list, Barnes said, and he’s looking to take a Texas official visit in September.
***
In one of the week’s more interesting developments, potential 5-star OL/DL Lamar Brown dumped his scheduled Florida State visit and will now take an official visit to Texas on June 6. Will it matter in the end? We’ll see but the Longhorns are officially in the race.
***
Texas continues to surge with Tupelo (MS) defensive end JaReylan McCoy, who was sporting some Longhorn gear at Sunday’s Rivals Camp.

As we reported earlier in the week, Rivals100 safety Chace Calicut flipped his Michigan and Texas official visits. The Longhorns will now be the last team to host him and Calicut plans to have a decision roughly a week after that trip to Austin. That seems like a big development in favor of Texas.
***
Wide receiver Mason James dropped a top five of Texas, Oklahoma, Washington, Missouri and Kansas State. There’s some thought that this one could be a Texas-Washington battle if the UT staff pushes. James is set to visit Texas on June 13.
***
In an interesting twist, John Turntine swapped out his scheduled official visit to Tennessee with a trip to Stanford. There was a time when Tennessee seemed like a legitimate threat in this one but the Vols would now seem to be on the outside looking in. Texas will get the last visit on June 20. Also of note, Kyle Flood stopped by to do a visit with Turntine this week.
***
Damari Simeon dropped a top four of Texas, Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State. An eventual Texas commitment would be a surprise.

NEW OFFERS
Kyle Flood continues to cast a wide net with offensive line offers.
