What a spectacle the draft has turned into. If you’re a hardcore NFL fan you probably get your money’s worth in terms of over-analysis etc. but to the casual fan seems kind of over the top. Regardless, I’m envious of the financial benefits some of those young men are reaping at 22 years of age.

Maybe it would be reactivated if China invaded but other than that............ Oh-- that draft.

Did you come by for your Kyler pat on the head or what?

No doubt he has had a spectacular HS and College career, but he's going to get squashed in the NFL. And what were the Giants thinking with the Duke QB? Maybe he will pan out, but they could've gotten him in late first.

Apparently the Duke QB has a long standing relationship with the Manning brothers from participating in their passing camps. Peyton gave a glowing recommendation of the dude and from all accounts that I have read, the GM for the Giants took Peyton's word as gospel and that is why they went with him. Also, Haskins' father (who is also operating as his agent; and not an actual agent) has been less than easy to deal with in terms of teams wanting information. May have contributed to his "fall"

No more OU shit...got enough yesterday

Keep in mind, for Murray, or anyone going to the NFL. First and foremost, it’s all about the money. Murray will be set for life. If he doesn’t turn out to be all world in the NFL, the only people who will care are us armchair qb’s. He certainly won’t. I do however, believe that he has as good a chance as any to be successful if he can avoid injury.

I think Haskins has a chance to be a really good qb

True, he has all the talent to be a great one but God left his legs kinda short for an nfl qb. I think he is listed as 5'10 which puts his eye level around 5'6ish. Gonna be a blind spot behind those 6'4 linemen. Ya never know...
I think I would have gone the mlb route where smaller dudes like Altuve can thrive. Good for him, he got paid.

I have a feeling he'll try to do both

The Giant's draft is bad. The Raider's draft wasn't a lot better. Who knows on the rest. Lot of very good players left, especially corners and receivers. NFL puts a huge premium on the line of scrimmage. 21 1st rounds were OL or front 7 on defense.

Some are speculating that the Heisman Foundation is considering adding Riley’s name to the trophy, possibly in a hyphenated form so popular with players these days: Heisman-Riley. Has anyone else heard this?

Dude---- there's trying and then there's "try hard". You're being a try hard.

Stranger things have happened, don’t forget you laughed me off when I proclaimed Murray had won the Heisman after the Big 12 CCG. 2 Consecutive Heismans, 2 consecutive No. 1 picks. At this point it’s not luck, it’s a pattern, just saying.......:)

Yup. The dogma that Texas is loaded with talent, great recruiting, should be able to just “out talent” almost everyone on their schedule is just not true and hasn’t been for several years.
Look at OU and the rest of the Big 12 so far:
OU has had the 1st QB drafted and #1 overall pick, first WR off the board in the draft, and FOUR OL drafted in the the first four rounds....all before Texas has had a single player drafted.
Off the top of my head from casually watching the draft these teams also have picks before Texas:
WVU: 3
ISU: 2
TCU: 2
OKSt: at least 1
KSU: at least 1
KU: at least 1
Baylor: at least 1
And could be more that I’m missing...

Oh look----- now the Utah kicker has been drafted.

Jesus h christ. Prepare for aggy and blowU trash talk for months.

Lol, I'm guessing you didn't take statistics?

Texas has got to get out of the Big 12, this conference is sucking us dry.
Man, Wasatch, I don’t think we can blame the Big 12 on our own incompetence. Herman is fixing the culture. He just needs time. I have certain worries about Beck and his lack of any innovation or originality on offense, but we will know this fall what he can do with experienced players in his system.

Little if any whatsoever to do with conference. It’s all self inflicted. As of now Herman’s first recruiting class just finished their freshmen season or redshirted. We’ll have to wait a few years to see what happens. The 2014-2017 recruiting classes were all decimated.

Old dominion has never had a player drafted. There have been two drafted today. How much money would you have ever wagered that Old Dominion would ever have more draft picks than Texas at ANY point of ANY draft?

I know I shouldn't be pissed but for some reason I am.

Houston Texans just took a CB from Central Michigan in late 6th round with Boyd still on the board. I wonder what the scoop on Boyd is and why he slid so far down the draft despite his measurable‘s?

Half the NFL is undrafted. Also, we won 10 games, beat the 4th AND 5th ranked teams in the country, and won a ny6 bowl in the process. Doing this without nfl-coveted guys should be a good sign, yes?

Two other things-- don't care where LJH is picked. I think he's a difference maker.

Secondly, bashing beck was okay last spring. The offense was fine this year. Find a new whipping boy for now

The results prior to Herman’s arrival make a lot of sense when you watch draft. But, try to look on the bright side. Texas beat six of the eight teams you mentioned there with less NFL ready talent on the field. Herman is building. He won more games in two seasons with Charlie’s guys than Charlie won in three seasons. He’s 2-0 in bowl games. Keep winning and the little nfl draft pissing contest won’t be an issue.
