Yesterday Mrs. Doubtifre aka Colin Montgomeire, who never won anything of consequence, said he thought Tiger should just retire since he has no chance of winning anymore and questioned why he’d continue to play when he’s looked so bad.
Tiger was asked today about the comments and this is what we got.
'Well, as a past champion, I'm exempt until I'm 60,' Colin's not. He's not a past champion, so he's not exempt. So he doesn't get the opportunity to make that decision. I do. So when I get to his age (61), I get to still make that decision, where he doesn't.'
He’s not wrong and well said.
