I am not trying to pile on your losses, for KUFB has not won 4 games in a season since 2009. But this stat is still a complete shock.

I have read your interactions with each other, but I am genuinely curious of what it is going take for your team to get out of this slump, despite all of the advantages you possess.

Your moderator is correct.

At this point, your guesses are as good as ours. UT could offer entire graduate courses on organizational incompetence with our football program and athletics department as the sole case study.

Sometimes a colossal shit happens. We need to get this program back together and I THINK having an AD like CDC will help. I don’t know if TH is our future coach but he’s here now and I’m assuming he’s growing as a HC at a big program. My guess is once we start rolling with consistency we’ll be hard to stop. But when that will happen is anyones guess right now. Hiring and firing won’t help. We need to either support who’s in place or finally hire someone with skins on the wall or has proven to be a consistent winner.

I am not saying that it is a direct correlation, but this streak began when all of the conference realignment was happening and the Longhorn Network's creation. Other than HC Brown's failures, at the end, how much of these two events could have affected the desire of some of UT's top HC targets to consider UT? Wasn't HC Strong your 6th or 8th "legitimate" choice? Something just does match up, with UT essentially being a helmet school and not getting a top proven HC.

Strong was "Idiot" Steve Patterson's knee jerk response to red McCombs picking up the phone and calling Jon gruden after chip brown couldn't keep his mouth shut and blew any legitimate chance of getting Saban. Patterson had words with Red over the call and Red basically tells him to go fvck himself. This was on a Thursday. "Idiot" Steve Patterson then knee jerks and hires strong on Friday. And whether he will admit it or not, or whether you like hearing it or not, Charlie was hired for one reason only. His race.
Don't believe me? Well steve said it himself. Ya, he admitted that after his cratering career as AD came to an end in crash and burn fashion, he was asked by a reporter what he was most proud of during his brief stint at UT. His response "I'm most proud of my two historic hires in basketball and football."

This was after Charlie got kicked around in year one and was completely crapping the bed in year two. I've been blocked by Steve on Twitter three times with three different accounts. Why? Because I keep asking him why those two hires were "historic". He knows in his heart his words revealed his racist intentions. He didn't want the best guy for the football job. He wanted a man of color. Period. And had he hired Mike tomlin or Tony dungee, I'd have Ben the first dude at the tarmac trying to suck those dudes dicks. But he didn't. He hired a dude that wasn't ready and deep in our hearts, we all knew he wasn't ready. But woe is the person that tried to speak rationally to the " socially woke" individuals that simply wanted to applaud a man of color being hired, even though that was the only reason he was hired. "Idiot" Steve Patterson is the worst kind of woke individual. He's so woke that he's actually racist.

clob, I don't disagree with anything that you said about Patterson. He was the worst AD in Texas history and could be and probably should be regarded as the worst AD and GM in sports history. The one thing that no Texas fan will ever know though is what things would have been like if Saban had been hired. That was so, so close to happening, IMO.

I think the world of Mack Brown. He did so much good for the University of Texas. The last several years of his career he hurt Texas too. I acknowledge that. People who I've talked with have said that it is Mack that screwed up the Saban hire. Saban was coming to Texas. They had verbally agreed on money and he was starting to assemble his staff. Mack was "encouraged to resign" and should have acknowledged that it was time, but he drug his feet and couldn't bring himself to do it, when he should have realized that it was in everyone's best interest for him to move on. This caused Saban become frustrated and throw his hands up. He ended up using Texas as leverage to get a lifetime deal at Alabama to remain there. Saban was ours, and we lost him. I truly believe that.

If others have heard a different version of how Saban almost came to Texas I'd love to hear it, but I think this is pretty accurate. We can only wonder what things would have been like if this would have materialized.

Oh well, lose some win some..we have a good AD now in CDC and I don't think he will take Hermans losing too much longer, on his Rewind show he looked beaten and down if ya watch it, always talking with his head down,,I give it one more season or less
