Stephen F. Austin: Mississippi State defensive analyst Van Malone has interviewed for the SFA head coaching job, a person with knowledge of the situation tells The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. A Houston native, Malone has previously been the defensive coordinator at SMU and coached at Texas A&M, Oklahoma State and North Texas. In addition, Arkansas running backs coach Jeff Traylor will interview for the SFA head coaching job, and LSU wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph is also in the mix, according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.
