Saturday 2:40 p.m. update - WR Demariyon Houston will announce his decision next Saturday. Interesting timing, because I heard recently the Longhorns would be the team to beat if Houston was going to make a decision.

Thursday 10 a.m. update - From last night, DB Marques Caldwell decommits from Oregon.
As we've mentioned for a while, this one looks very good for Texas.

Monday 8 p.m. update - This hasn't been discussed much because he asked me to keep it under wraps, but Alvin defensive back Marques Caldwell did make an unofficial visit to UT last weekend, just before the deadline kicked in.
Someone tweeted about the visit tonight and Caldwell gave me the okay to post it on the board. Caldwell remains committed to Oregon but I've felt for a while this one was trending UT's way once he got the Texas offer, and I feel even better about that after this last visit.
Caldwell told me over the weekend that he doesn't plan on making any quick decisions so he is still sorting through his options, but getting him in for a visit just before the dead period is obviously a big step for Texas.
