2019 Recruiting Thread

Cuero will be in Austin tomorrow playing Eastside Memorial if anybody wants to go see Jordan Whittington. However, Eastside is 0-7, so get there early. Jordan might not be in the game too long. Lol

Just a reminder that we might just be getting a hotshot WR from St Louis this evening around 6PM CST. And his hot shot APB teammate in the next class who's been a UT lean sure seems happy about it.

Missouri pipeline: A.Adeoye, D.Carson, M.Washington, M.Cooper, S.Cooper?

Will also mark the 7th state recruited in this class: TX, OK, AZ, CA, FL, GA, MO

Scholz was correct, the WR committed. Big time fill at a huge need. May have to go into next season losing Collin Johnson, LJH, Heard, and Burt leaving only: Duvernay (not a #1 WR just a role player), Pouncey, Eagles, Moore, Woodard, and whatever true freshmen show up.

Good get but not a huge need. We've already got two day one impact receivers coming in January as early enrollees. Still in the hunt for Bru McCoy as well.

Duvernay is a speed burner and could very well be the #1 receiver if CJ and LJH leave, and right now that's still a big "if".

That state list is impressive stuff! We're gonna be loaded at WR again next season.

Now if we can get another 325 lb. tackle!

I disagree. I don't want to rely on the hope of hitting the jackpot with guys that are still in high school right now. Plus they are both slot type receivers and Washington is a big body. Also, Duvy is a one trick pony that doesn't have half the skill set CJ and LJH do.

Really hoping that at least one of CJ or LJH stay. I'm going to enjoy them now as they might be the greatest WR duo the Horns have ever had.

I don't think that LJH has done nearly enough to warrant a draft slot better than a late round selection. He may have an attitude issue as well. The twitter deal as well as tonight's suspension.

Correct. This is what a blue blood program does when a Lil bro program is doling out cash in state like crazy. Texas recruiting appeal is universal and worldwide.

Hmmm...First you have to control your state and get best players you can there..we have done that. Then, you go outside of the state to fill needs that aren’t strong in state at certain positions. A&M has 7 players out of state in Louisiana, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida. Texas has 9 players out of state. Not sure you are dominating that. Just by first glance there are many more with Texas offers on our list than A&M offers on Texas list. Both programs are recruiting well...as they both should. Too fertile of grounds not to.

Why are you in our recruiting thread?

A&M is not controlling the state. Far from it and in fact there is not a single recruiting year ever where they have, unlike Texas who has done it numerous times.

You do realize that every school gets a lift with a first year coach? Even Fran out recruited Mack in his first year.

Take a closer look at your recruiting class, it's heaviest at DB and where did Texas absolutely clean up last year? You know the answer. Your DB class is so strong because most were scared of trying to compete with Texas class last year, they were smart, I haven't seen a DB in Texas as good as Foster Cook Jamison or Sterns.

Your oline recruiting is one 5 star and a bunch of 3-star guys. We will see what happens with Shepherd, but for now he is still with Texas. The only position that is doing better than Texas is on the dline. And again, Texas cleaned up there last year as well.

Your QB recruiting is horrible.

Running back is marginal.

Good receivers but Texas has better.

Texas has better linebackers as well.

Your concern should be the 10 3-star players you took, and what is going to happen in this state if your coach starts to turn them away for better prospects. . I'm sure Texas high school coaches are going to love Jimbo if he does that. Texas is likely taking 8 more and if they do they also likely pass both you guys and Oklahoma.

You coach is smart to have loaded up like he did this summer, he knew he was going to be 7-5 or 8-4 and he needed to capitalize on the hype surrounding his hire. He doesn't get that next year. He's going to have to earn his recruits.

You think Herman isn’t going to have to earn his recruits? Bad losses to Maryland and Oklahoma St. Close to Tulsa and Baylor. If they lose to West Virginia the Herman factor is going to get cold in a hurry. Foolish comment if you think many Texas players don’t go to Texas because competition is greater at certain positions. I would trade classes with you at all. We were much more balanced then in years past. Where is our weakness?? Secondary. We have some good ones on paper. Always paper until proven otherwise. 3 stars? This board was loaded with people who downplayed star ratings. A&M called Strong 3 star Charlie but everyone here said it’s what you wanted. A&M was heavy skill positions and no trenches. We do not have a great quarterback YET. James Foster I like that is a freshmen. Your defense has been getting diced up so to each his own about what you think is good

you have to control state meaning you get what you want in state. We have been able to do that. Way more on our list you wanted than on your list that we wanted. Both schools get what they want. I’m saying Texas and A&M need to control the safe and have the best kids stay here. I think we both have done that.

I asked you to stay out of the recruiting thread. Your trash talking about Texas, Longhorn recruiting and the Big 12 earned you a ban on OB. Slither back over to texaggy.

Hook'em!

Aggsy are having their first good recruiting year since the early 90's and ags act like this has been the norm over the last 40 years.

So now you are changing your tune, as now we both agree A&M has never controlled the state in recruiting. Thanks for playing.

I think we will both have good classes. It's just a matter of what we do with them, and can we both keep them on campus, which is no small trick anymore.
