2019 Recruiting Thread

He is going to have to be, he has a lot of talent in front of him and a major talent behind him. I have a feeling unless he is a game changer he might get passed up by Card.

Not sure why you doubt Johnson so much. Go watch a lot of his film and you'll be impressed. I like Card, and it is a good thing to have him, Johnson and the other young QB's on the roster. It will be a change for the better finally for Texas QB's. IMO, Johnson will end up being the best out of the group.

K.Lewis is a pretty fresh offer and he's said he's going to visit ND and Florida first. I'd put my money on P.Powell or M.Washington. Possibly M.Warren.
Ya i just edited my op lol, may have jumped the gun on lewis.

I love Johnson's film, he is fantastic, But Card is crazy good, looks like Colt out there. I don't think I've ever raved about a QB like I do Card, he looks like he has played the position his whole life. This isn't taking anything away from Johnson, but I honestly think Card is better.

I seen Card play last year at the State Championship game at Jerry world. Their starter got hurt the first play of the game and Card came in and took over. They ended up losing to Allen by a point but I was really impressed with the way the kid threw the football. That being said I think Johnson is a better fit for Herman’s style of offense

Both Card and Johnson are really good looking QB's. IMO the thing that separates the two is Johnson's mobility and his ability to extend plays and make plays on on the fly.

Card is super athletic. Didn't look so hot last week vs Westlake in their blowout loss though. Threw some bad picks with some bad decisions. Very fixable stuff though. He has all the tools.

Roach CB'd Sanders to Bama... I think we all new that was coming and where he ultimately ended up. But Texas at least made it interesting! I guess it's not over till it's over tho

Unless John Emery switches from Georgia to LSU, I think Cain is a done deal too. I like D.Brown though. I hope we wait and offer a couple of 2020 RBs instead of reaching for a 2nd in this class (i.e. Glass out of Katy). There are a lot of difference makers in that class.

Agreed only because I think K Ingram is special. If not, it’s to long to keep waiting for an elite back. But if Keontay goes down the cupboard is bare.

After thinking about it for a second they may have to take two RBs regardless. You are losing Watson for sure and very likely losing some or all of Kyle Porter, Toneil Carter, Tristian Houston and Johnson. Either way that group of four is dead weight.

Bird in hand...Take two now and make sure to grab one of the 2020 five star RBs in-state either Evans or Amaro.

Steele the 5* CB that was committed to USC just decommited from them. Was high on us, however i doubt he comes here. Probably another Pac12 or LSU bound

He said Florida or unfortunately OU. Bru McCoy supposed to be visiting Norman with him for the Bedlam game too. Blerg.

This is not what I was looking for today

I know, right. Recruiting seems to have hit a rough patch but just keep winning. The idiots at espn still think blou has a better chance of making the playoff than we do. Go watch their playoff show, you'll see. If I'm Herman, I'm showing the team this crap every chance I get. One day LHN will have more subs than espn, lol.

Jordan Whittington had 217 all purpose yards in Cuero's 55-16 win over Llano. He had a rushing TD, receiving TD, and a pick six. All this in a little over a half of football, as Cuero pulled their starters early in the 3rd quarter.

@JoeAg, did you go to the game?

Inside Texas had a recruiting percentages article this morning, and below is what they wrote on RB Trey Sanders.

Up until now, they haven't given UT much of a chance.

The fit: Explosive big back who can run inside or outside, with speed or with power. "He's the best running back out this way since Dalvin Cook," said one source. To which I responded, "he looks way different than I remember as a junior." He didn’t look like a five-star to me until this year.

The recruitment: This recruitment threw me for a loop yesterday. In the span of about 10 minutes both Justin and me heard positives regarding Texas. I've been very cautious (to put it mildly)on UT's chances thus far, but now I could see them landing the five-star.

Timeline: December for the early enrollee. He still has an official visit to Alabama for the Iron Bowl which is obviously a concern. He took his official visit to Texas for the USC game.

Percentages: 40% - Texas, 40% - Alabama, 20% - Florida

Also, we have 2 silent commits currently. One is supposed to be Missouri WR Marcus Washington who is announcing this Friday. The other committed yesterday and could announce as early as tomorrow. Not supposed to be a surprise. I would guess Odessa ATH Peyton Powell.

Rumors are Powell will announce his verbal commitment today.

He's in. Texas beat out OU and tOSU.

For those that don't know this guy runs a legit 4.4 and has a 37" vertical.
