2020 recruiting

His older brother is transferring - nothing to see here. Just go grab one of the hundreds of kids that will be in free agency (portal) this spring.

Wow. This is very concerning. Not a good look for Herman with kids decommiting and transferring. Things will only get worse if Texas loses more ballgames. This could get ugly, fast.
Nah. This is typical attrition the older brother is in his third year on campus and hasn’t played a single snap of football. He’s been recruited over, and they’re from Florida so the recruit now has little reason to stay at Texas.

This likely would’ve happened no matter what was going on with Texas even if they were ranked number one in the nation coming off back to back national championships.

I'm not necessarily basing my comment on just Pouncey. There are whispers about discord and transfers after the season is over.

Herman met with each member of the 2019 class, watched film with them, and tried to solidify their relationships. This is a smart way to get out ahead of the freshman blues, homesickness, grass-is-greener players, etc... I believe cfb coaches will now have to recruit their own players year after year to combat attrition through the transfer protal.

ALSO BC tweeted out a shhhhh

So I guess the sky is not falling after all.....

Lets hope its not falling. Winning cures all. We win these next two and show some spirit doing so I'll feel better. Right now count me in the sky has crack marks allllllll over it.

This is some encouraging news. Yes, winning does cure all, and if Texas can somehow win out, it will help with recruiting big-time. Being realistic, Texas most likely isn't going to win out. I'm concerned about a lot of things for the future.

New Commit is Dajon Harrison out of Hutto, TX. Former TCU commit. Looks like a DB/WR prospect.

I see we currently have all of one DL recruit on board. Very solid.

Recruiting is going to be tough when everyone wants the coaches fired every other year. Recruits read the press and see the tweets, I'm sure it doesn't give them confidence in their choice when all the hear is how bad the coaching is.

Nope. They see wins. They see players going to the NFL. The bad press might effect a small percentage of recruits because every school gets it from their fans.

When can the coaches get back out on the road? I would like to see a sideline to sideline backer on board.

What is the latest on recruiting? This should be the final push before 1st signing period!
Things are slow currently with the coaches being in limbo. Only new offer was to DL Sawyer Goram- Welch. Seems to be the back up plan to losing out on Van Fillinger.

Most of the 2019 guys seem committed to sticking with Texas which is good. Mike Roach of 24/7 said on his podcast that Ty Jordan is the biggest risk to flip (Graham Harrel at OC could help with that) while we should keep an eye on Troy Omiere, Quentin Johnston, Xavion Alford and Kitan Crawford though these guys haven't said or done anything as of yet to have us concerned.

Coaches are out making visits, mostly in-homes to guys already committed. I would expect a big push after NSD1 that includes the new coaches and new targets.

Some good news. I heard this week that Bijan Robinson (RB from Arizona) reaffirmed his commitment to Texas.[/Q

Expect Sawyer Goram-Welch to commit. We still are in a good spot with Alford Collins though others have made a strong push with us falling off a bit.

Things definitely took at hit at DL recruiting, losing Princely Umanmielen, Van Fillinger and maybe Collins. Coulda been a great class, though if we land Collins I'd still be quite pleased with him and Vernon Broughton

Not disputing that. Westbrook was a grown ass man and tore up people at Texas. I'm talking about the best RB I've ever seen in HS. Another one that is in the conversation was Rodney Thomas. RIP.
I saw guys like Earl Campbell and Eric Dickerson and Edwin Simmons and David Overstreet and a few others. Leland was a talented kid..just picked the wrong school..

Ty Jordan with the flip to Utah. Talented kid who would have added some scat back abilities to the backfield which we don't currently have.

Supposedly this is false or pre-mature because there has been some backtracking by the kid recently. Apparently it stemmed from Ty telling Mike Roach that Utah was recruiting them harder. Obviously his commitment is in question tho. But word is Mom, who has cancer, wants him as close to home as possible.

Seems that he posted a commitment graphic on twitter yesterday (acct is protected). Is he backtracking from that?

I know Texas is in a dark place, but if Texas is recruiting you and offered you, why in the earthly hell would you choose Utah? lol.

I believe so, I just get my info from twitter and other sites. And that's what they are saying.

Interesting. Seems you are right. 24/7 still has him as a Texas commit. There is a graphic out there but perhaps someone shouldn't have put it out.

The story has been that Utah had been recruiting him harder. "showing more love" as the kids say. Also, Cam Rising hosted him on his visit.
