If we are to believe as someone stated that it is the conference that makes the football team, then Rice would be a far superior choice to UH.
I didn't know that. My first thought is that Washington State, Oregon State, and Colorado are probably diluting the revenue as opposed to bringing value to the conference. Just a guess.FWIW - KTCK 1310 the Ticket in Dallas just had a discussion. They brought up again that Arizona and Arizona St. are not happy in the Pac 12. ALSO - I don't foresee this as even a possibility but ... they said that UCLA is extremely unhappy with the revenue being generated in PAC 12, and the possibility of enticing them away in 2024. Hey, we can always dream.
This is what I've been saying for a while but didn't know that UCLA were upset as well. Hmmm, that's a twist. I do think it's realistic for the Big12 to get the AZ schools but i think it's leverage for them to shake to PAC for more money.FWIW - KTCK 1310 the Ticket in Dallas just had a discussion. I don't think CU would want back. They have a large following in california. The AZ schools does as well but they do recruit Tx. I think UT have had a few kids transfer thereThe only current P5 schools available for poaching are from the PAC 12. Colorado and the Arizona Schools are the only real options.
If Texas and ou bolt, I think the leftover B12 could make a new breed of mid major type conference. It would be an excellent conference unlike the crappy WAC, Mountain States Conference, Conference USA or whatever. If they could keep the remaining members along with Memphis and Cinci, Houston and maybe UNM or SMUThere is only one thing that needs to happen with the Big XII.
And it's this....

Maybe Boren is playing the long con. Maybe this is all a ruse to blow the thing up and he's super intelligent. I doubt it though. The most likely scenario is that he and Bowlsby are complete buffoons.
Yet TCU has done it for the last 15 years.
If a school would get kick, it would be BU.Lol boot WVU. WVU 3-2 all time vs Texas. I guess I could see why SOME Texas fans would want to get rid of the Mountaineers.
Apparently the LBGTQ community is against BYU joining the BIG12, and complaining. I believe that BYU makes the most sense, as they actually have fans who don't have relatives on the team, unlike a few others being considered.

Wouldn't count on that. He's a Rhodes scholar and former governor and U.S. Senator. Buffoon no.
He has what he needs to exit the league too which he likely will do in eight years just like UT. Showing financial imbalance with other leagues plus lack of stability caused by Baylor shenanigans and the vaunted Longhorn Network money ESPN is bleeding to UT.
Nobody has 6 votes at this point, it's all talk.
Exactly, there's not one team that even has 6 votes at this point.Need 8 votes. Big 12 bylaws require a super majority to add a team.
Does anyone have ANY confidence at all in Bowlsby? Why does he have this job? He defines the word bureaucrat.Another Big 12 source specifically called out Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby for his role in what has turned out to be a mess of an expansion conversation.
“This is his deal,” the source said. “A lot of people are wondering how this ends and it’s going to be his job to land this thing softly if that is what is required, and it’s looking like that’s the likely scenario at this point."
I'm just curious as to how many schools would give UH a yes vote.Exactly, there's not one team that even has 6 votes at this point.
It's not looking very promising and Texas was simply playing politics with their nod.I'm just curious as to how many schools would give UH a yes vote.
