Every week during the season, the Orangebloods staff will release an updated SEC Power Rankings that reveals the state of the conference in our eyes. All teams are ranked 1-16, with the first-place team receiving 16 points and the last place team receiving 1 point.
Let's take a look at how things look going into week 9.
1. Georgia (6) 96 points (Last week: 2nd)
Highest ranking: 1st (Unanimous) Lowest ranking: 1st (Unanimous)
To the victors, go the spoils. The Dawgs are back in the top spot after the Longhorns had held the belt for a month.
2. Texas - 90 points (Last week: 2nd)
Highest ranking: 2nd (Unanimous) Lowest ranking: 2nd(Unanimous)
Can the Longhorns shake a loss off with ease to begin the journey that leads them into a rematch with the Dawgs?
3. LSU - 81 points (Last week: 5th)
Highest ranking: 3rd (Jason/Anwar/Alex) Lowest ranking: 4th (Geoff/Cody/Travis)
Slowly but surely, the Tigers have been climbing this list over the last two months since its opener against USC.
4. Tennessee - 79 points (Last week: 6th)
Highest ranking: 3rd (Geoff/CodyTravis) Lowest ranking: 5th (Jason/Anwar)
The offense is kind of a mass, but the Vols have an elite defense. How far can it take them?

Highest ranking: 4th (Jason/Anwar) Lowest ranking: 6th (Alex)
If the Aggies beat the Tigers this weekend, a move from 5th to 3rd might be in the making.
6. Vandy 62 points (Last week 7th)
Highest ranking: 6th (Jason/Geoff/Travis/Anwar) Lowest ranking: 9th (Alex)
More than half of us ranked the fightin' Commodores ahead of Alabama? What bizzaro world are we living in?
7. Alabama - 60 points (Last week: 3rd
Highest ranking: 5th (Alex) Lowest ranking: 9th (Travis)
I'll be honest when I say that I don't know what the hell we're supposed to think of the Tide.

Highest ranking: 7th (Jason/Alex) Lowest ranking: 8th (Geoff/Cody/Travis/Anwar)
I'll be honest when I say that I don't know what the hell we're supposed to think of the Rebels.
9. South Carolina 44 points (Last week: 12th)
Highest ranking: 9th (Jason/Geoff/Cody) Lowest ranking: 11th (Alex)
The Gamecocks are the league's bi-polar team. Good enough to possibly beat anyone. Bad enough to possibly lose to anyone.
10. Missouri 39 points (Last week: 10th)
Highest ranking: 8th (Alex) Lowest ranking: 12th (Travis.Anwar)
If anyone actually cares about the Tigers, we'd be talking a lot about how horribly disappointing they've been. But, it's Mizzou... so screw'em.
11. Arkansas 38 points (Last week: 9th)
Highest ranking: 7th (Travis) Lowest ranking: 13th (Cody)
No team in the league has a wider gap of opinion than the Hawgs this week. Cody has them living in the Mississippi zip code, while Travis has them 2 spots ahead of Alabama.
12. Florida - 34 points (Last week: 14th)
Highest ranking: 9th (Anwar) Lowest ranking: 14th (Alex)
In D.J. Lagway, the Gators must trust.
13. Kentucky 26 points (Last week: 11th)

Barion Brown chose poorly.
14. Oklahoma 20 points (Last week: 13th)
Highest ranking: 13th (Travis/Alex) Lowest ranking: 15th (Cody)
Why do Travis and Alex love the Sooners so much?
15. Auburn 13 points (Last week: 15th)
Highest ranking: 14th (Cody) Lowest ranking: 15th (Everyone else)
If they played the Sooners 10 times, they'd win 6 of them, right?
16. Miss State 6 points (Last week: No.16)
Highest ranking: 16th (Unanimous) Lowest ranking: 16th (Unanimous)
