Fall camp

If you want Speed, then look at the little dude from Kansas State, he is fastest I have seen in a while judging from last year, don't know how we miss him living so close to Austin,,,,he can turn it up field fast around the corners...and follow his blockers as we learn during that game last yr,,

There's alot more to playing running back than just speed.

Dude we got Bijan Robinson, Roschon Johnson, and a freshman named Jonathan Brooks c'mon coming in. Were good to go and you're still going on about Deuce Vaughn?

You forgot about the Bama rb transfer, Brooks will probably not see the field this year. Bijan, Roschon, Bama transfer and Daniel Young. Deepest position we have which is insane to think about.

yup! credit where its due...Duce did about the same as our guys last cause of the Oline...I didn't say he was better but got that burst of speed I haven't seen in a while...you will be seeing him agin this year...Herman had no recruiting skills...

This is interesting. Two guys on both sides of the ball, Majors and Overshown, both say freshman DL Byron Murphy has been the stud of camp. I’m pretty sure that’s the first time that name has been typed on this board. Potential surprise star right there.
There were a lot of disappointments especially on the offensive side of the ball and we were only ranked 16th. But we did great on defense and Murphy was a late signee and was considered a sleeper. Were going to do alright with this class.

Ok I got to ask is Jett Bush related to GHWB?

Add Coburn to the Byron Murphy hype train. When asked out of all newcomers, freshmen and transfers, who has stood out, Byron Murphy was the first name out his mouth. Said he thinks Murphy is the best DT to come through Texas. This, from another DT. High praise.

No, he’s related to Reggie.

I wonder what is going through Alfred Collins’s mind?

I’m starting to get really nervous about this QB battle. Sounds like Card may be slightly better in practice, but I don’t want this decided in practice. I know nothing about Card in a real game situation. I did see Casey get his first real action in a bowl game, and all he did was engineer a blowout in less than 20 minutes. That 20 minutes mean much more to me than anything that’s happened since.

There have always been guys that shine in practice, but melt in a real game situation. The worry here is, Card might win the job in practice, Casey transfers, then we find out Card was just one of those workout warriors. I believe Casey should be the man until Card earns it in games.

Hey he's a white dude 😅

Given your outspoken views on Dylan Haines 😅 I'm sure you know that another slow footed wh*** guy who used to play safety for us is the new safeties coach.

I was mad at Blake Gideon for that dropped interception at TT. But after intensive therapy with Dr Hodges and the group I forgave him. Took 11 years but I'm ok now. When they found out that Gideon was the new safeties coach Dr Hodges gave me breathing exercises to get me through it.

Actually Gideon was a decent player for us. His play dropped after Earl Thomas left but you can day that whole back 7. But his first 2 years he was a good safety he had a great game against AL. Looking back he was a better 2* player than Breckyn Hager and certainly better than Dylan Haines. I hope he works out as a coach sometimes average players make better coaches. And as always

Card has played well in Texas 6A D1 playoffs not sure there is any bigger stage for a high school player to experience.

I agree with you on Thompson. He's got the most experience and maturity. He was very impressive in the Alamo Bowl last year. I think that Sark is keeping the QB battle/decision close to the vest and not naming one over the other for as long as he can perhaps out of fear of losing one to the portal. Finally for a change, it's good to have quality guys and depth at the QB postion on The 40.

Mack Brown and Greg Davis aren’t here anymore.
Again, I’m no fan of Mack and certainly not GDGD, but how can you blame them? Were they not here when a certain 3 star developed into a two time Heisman finalists?
