Yeah that’s never gonna happen, but on the flip side he’d never win that many titles if he were coaching today. It’s not even the same world really.
I am not so sure about that. He recruited as well as anyone ever has, and was the best coach around. His attention to detail was astonishing. Fact.....his first practice every year was spending HOURS showing the kids how to put on their socks!
Oh he would be a very good coach today no question about that. With the NCAA tournament the way it is today it’s very unlikely even John wooden could win it 10 times.
Well coach K has won 5 but I do think John Wooden have equaled that. Above all else John Wooden was a great teacher.
Yep and I think coach K will probably be the last coach that wins that many titles. When K retires Rick Pitno will be the only active coach with multiple titles.
You old timers remember this? This was the last time we played Purdue in the tournament. Coincidentally this was also to advance to the sweet 16.

Who is arguing? We were talking about basketball national titles and someone chimed in with Nick Saban and called me out, so I’m asking did Nick Saban change sports. Perhaps he did.

John wooden would succeed in today's world-- with the NIL. Because Sam Gilbert was the key to that whole deal. Ol' woody turned a blind eye and acted surprised and hurt that after 16 years all of a sudden the best players in America were showing up at his door. As marques Johnson said "if I played well, we won; if I didn't play well, we still won." NO WAY you could get by today without scouting your opponents, like wooden did.
@diadevic I don't know if this will make you feel any better but your lady bears are a #1 seed and looked good the other night. Well find out if your new coach is a big game coach.

Watching the officials root for B1G teams is sickening. They are trying to give the game to Wisconsin over Iowa State. I expect the same tonight.

It’s clear to me that the game plan is to make Edey and Williams beat us. No way they allow Ivey to beat us. Anybody but him. So far he’s not gone off. He’s going to get his at times but didn’t let him beat you.
