Earlier this summer four-star Tulsa WR JJ Hester told me he was looking at fall official visits, but was not ruling out a summer commitment. New information I am hearing says that decision will likely be sooner than later, that a decision is in and we could be hearing the verdict at any time. My Forecast has been in for Texas for several weeks.

Hester's been pretty open to us for the past three months that Texas was his leader, but nobody seems to be talking about him.

Interesting since 50% of his CB picks on 247 are for OU and the rest are foggy or UGA. I imagine he's just kind of been lost in the shuffle between Dorbah and Broughton and RB madness the last few months.

he’s listed as the #1 player in oklahoma. it shows he has an offer from ou, so any idea why he has no interest in going there? would he possibly flip there if they pushed?

Would we really have room for a 4 man WR class?

Johnston
Hester
Wilson
Bunkley-Shelton

Who is odd man out?

Or does that speak to what the staff feels it has on campus already?

Just playing around with the other sites class calculator. Put him in, then all the hopefuls Chris Thompson, Lindberg, Collins, QJ, if all of them would commit today for instance, (i had one other can't think), we would be ranked 5th, number 2 in quality per. Bijan, do not pull the trigger yet, wait this out.

In his film I see a lot of defensive highlights as well. I presume he is being recruited exclusively as a WR yes?

#1 Player in the state of OK.
Offers from Georgia, ou, tosu, etc.

I'll take it.

Word has been that ou and Oklahoma State aren’t pushing hard for him, for whatever reason. He’s right in their backyard, you would think it would be easy pickings. I think he’s also said that he wants to play out of state.
Living here in Oklahoma, one thing stands out compared to living in Texas ( I was born in Dallas, grew up in Austen, school in Fort Worth). Texas has a tremendous state pride attached to it, regardless of where you live. People are proud to live there or say they are from there. You don’t get that feeling at all from people here in Oklahoma. Sure there are some homers you come across, but most people seem to say they are from X Oklahoma, and are looking to get out at some point.

@Ketchum are you familiar enough with this kid to give an idea of where he’d rank as a receiver if he lived in texas? better than omeire ( sp? )?
Rivals national has Omeire as the #15 WR in the country and Hester at #28. If Hester was in Texas, the state rankings would look like this:

#1: Demond Demas (Texas A&M commit)
#2: Quentin Johnston (undecided)
#3: Troy Omeire (Texas A&M commit)
#4: Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Ohio State commit)
#5: Javian Hester (undecided)
#6: Ja'lynn Polk (Texas Tech commit)
#7: Parker Washington (Penn State commit)
#8: Marvin Mims (undecided)
#9: Trevon West (OU commit)
#10: Zeriah Beason (Oregon St. commit)

Somewhere in there is Davon Graham II (OU commit). His profile shows him as the #16 WR in the country, but he is not actually on the list of the top 100 WRs in the country when you click the link.

For the Mods, and recruiting SMEs - is this a necessary pick up? Seems we've got a pretty deep WR room, that's also young. Aren't we a bit limited on 'ships? I man, talent is talent, and if the kid is that good - great, go get him. But, I also think we have other positions of greater need at the moment.

I’ll take Johnston and Bunkley-Shelton. How many does the staff take?? How many does Texas need to sign. Not too many graduates

Not that you need my confirmation but, I concur.
