Javian Hester watch

I understand what you are saying, but Oklahoma kids rarely go to Texas. We have probably had more decommits from OK than kids that have gone to UT. Thompson is one of about 4-5 kids I can remember going to UT from Oklahoma in the last 15 years.

I remember a lineman, a defensive guy that got a medical, Thomson and that is about it.

Texas has State pride. Oklahomans are very proud of OU football.

Word has been that ou and Oklahoma State aren’t pushing hard for him, for whatever reason. He’s right in their backyard, you would think it would be easy pickings. I think he’s also said that he wants to play out of state.
Living here in Oklahoma, one thing stands out compared to living in Texas ( I was born in Dallas, grew up in Austen, school in Fort Worth). Texas has a tremendous state pride attached to it, regardless of where you live. People are proud to live there or say they are from there. You don’t get that feeling at all from people here in Oklahoma. Sure there are some homers you come across, but most people seem to say they are from X Oklahoma, and are looking to get out at some point.

That’s a good way to break them down, good perspective.
They might all be on our “wish list”, but they have just as much of a chance to not come here as they do to possibly do.
I think you take a #1 State prospect, who might be a little raw, and then keep sorting it out as it goes. I would imagine a few of those guys might fall off or jump into the commitment list

“As they do to possibly do.“ I had to read that three times before it really made sense. Probably because I am an old and it is late for an old.

For the Mods, and recruiting SMEs - is this a necessary pick up? Seems we've got a pretty deep WR room, that's also young. Aren't we a bit limited on 'ships? I man, talent is talent, and if the kid is that good - great, go get him. But, I also think we have other positions of greater need at the moment.

He’s definitely a take. Ou likes him a lot and they have been pretty good at evaluating WRs lately. Some rumors around the state that his top 3 are Texas, Georgia, and Tulsa. He has family already attending Tulsa FYI. But then you hear occasionally that he’s Ou’s to lose. So no telling.

Texas feels good about Wilson and Johnson, they like Shelton but he is probaly Juco.Achane wants to play RB not slot. They would take Hester in a heartbeat along with Wilson and Johnson.Schollys are not going to be a problem--24 to 26.--utx
You’re suggesting a fairly decent volume of attrition.

OU isn’t recruiting him.

The last thing that should be questioned with this staff are evaluations. If the staff believes after eval he is a take, I want him. Goes for Hester or anyone else.

While even the best staffs miss on occasion, I will go with Herman and staff on evals b/c they have earned it.

Hester is coming in this weekend says IT.

A good data point that he might actually be a take.
