Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (2024 recruiting is on the line in these last 4 weeks)

Sorry that just dumb it’s the same plan as any team in the league suck until you find your franchise QB. The defense can be lights out with a couple more drafts.

I feel for Texans fans. They've never really had a quarterback worth a shit.

1-5 is why it’s laughable to even remotely get excited about Collin Simmons

What's funny is that no one is really hyping up the win yesterday.

It was a solid win against a team that was previously undefeated for the season. For a team that has played so poorly in league play, it was a solid step forward (I hope).

Only one person in this thread is howling at the moon.

No. 4 - Updated Heisman Odds ...

How important is winning when it comes to the Heisman?

Texas running back Bijan Robinson currently leads Kansas State running back Deuce Vaughn in rushing (920 vs 902) and has scored twice as many touchdowns (13 vs 6), but trails Vaughn in the current DraftKings Sportsbook Heisman Odds. In fact, Robinson trails five other running backs heading into Week 9.

In this vein Bijan is essentially Troy Davis

(Sell) I kind of feel you on this, but that's only if we look at this in a vacuum. There are both hugely important to the 2022 season, but we won't look back on them as such unless they are won.

Let’s be frank. If we’re 5-5 and riding a 3-game losing streak as we’re walking off the DKR field on 11/12 tgen there will be a HEAVY sense of a failed hire. Again.

No question. That would represent major failure.

The question will be whether the enabling by the fans for dropped standards will continue or will the rubber meet the road?

Agreed. It would be Charlie Strong level year 2 failure. Herman atleast gave us hope going to the conference champ game (even with 3 losses).

I think the SEC is gonna make TX become something we don’t really want to be or never have been…like it or not…just depends on how far we’ll push that envelope…

Sark is already saying things kinda like, "You can look at the record if you want, but I'm not sure that's the best way to judge what we're doing...."

He must not believe Bill Parcells. When HCs start saying stuff like that then that’s when you very likely have a “bullshit con artist” leading your program

Glad y'all had a great trip. I lived there from '53 to '57 & loved it. My Mom & I would go to the park on Sundays & listen to the 49ers on radio & could hear the cheers in the stadium next door. Went to many Seals games (AAA baseball). There were still many mom & pop stores in the stadium neighborhood with baseball history items in their windows. It was a great sports town. Still my favorite place to live. Was back in '95 & couldn't find anything I recognized in the old neighborhood. Wonderful memories though. Thanks

Did you see Coit Tower or Golden Gate Park? Ride any cable cars?

you're not sounding overly confident in our highly paid QB.

I think this is a tougher challenge than OSU. I just don't think asking him to carry the majority of the weight against the strength of the KSU defense is the smart play.

Ask your dream backfield to go the distance against the weakest part of that defense.

of course you're right but at some point Ewers needs to start playing like what he is projected to be...I hope it is this season.

A reason to care?? About my school’s team that I’ve been a fan of for 40 years? No, I don’t need a “reason.” Too bad you do. I hope you at least care about your school’s team. They need your support.
Geesh…why so angry…I don’t need 2024 recruiting to cause me to watch the Longhorns. I too watch because they are playing. Calm the F down and grab a sense of humor while you are at it.
