Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Blue vs. Baxter... it's kind of a thing)

Sweat’s issue is teams checking him out learned he likes to party way too hard. Was a big subject of his combine interviews. One thing to make a mistake. Another to say “yeah I had issues but I’m done with it” and a month later get a DWI.
You have to be a grown up right now.

Blue vs Baxter will be interesting to watch.

What I find more interesting is how they handle Sorrell.

Guy seems like the team leader but do the coaches think Burke is a better overall player? How do they handle that whole rotation. Especially since Sorrell seems to be the Rojo of this years team (team leader)
There's plenty of room for both.

Which is odd when simply throw out statements such as “Baxter is the better overall RB” Willy nilly. Based on what?
Thinking Elmo GIF by Sesame Street

Which is odd why @ZachattheDisch said a “pro” from the series was Texas didn’t get swept. Not sure what he was trying to say but it came out stupid
well, it was a pro. Unless you want a coaching change. another loss would have been a pro, I suppose.

..   Is Steve Strasburg a Hall of Famer? Feels like he's the Terrell Davis of the MLB in the last 20 years.

Wut? If you’re saying that about Terrell Davis then you can pretty much say that about Earl Campbell. See how dumb that sounds? Under what POSSIBLE criteria is Strasburg a HOFer?

Wonder what Sark sees? He obviously made the decision for a reason.

I’m not the “coaches are always right guy” because they make mistakes like anyone. I’m just curious why Sark had Baxter #1. Even over a veteran and team first guy like brooks.

Had to have seen something
He recruited one and not the others.

He had an 8 year stretch from 2012 to 2019 when he was elite when he was on the mound. I'm not saying he is, I'm just asking questions.

How concerned are you that Baxter doesn’t seem to have gained a single pound from last year? I thought he looked a little slight, ran a little slight and clearly was a bit too slight injury wise imo. Was really expecting him to be at least 225, so is this something the coaches will really push for before fall and are you similarly disappointed (probably better word than concerned) he didn’t gain any weight? Again, I just imagine him being a very different and better and hardier back at 225-230.

I just don’t think it’s a debate between Blue and Baxter. My eyes tell me it’s Blue and not even close
The Baxter over Brooks decisions left me more than puzzled last year. Brooks was just flat out better

Not very concerned.

No Terrell Davis quality?
TD was a NFL MVP and a 2x AP OPoY. He was arguably the best player in the NFL for a stretch. While talented, nobody ever thought Strasburg was the best pitcher. Never finished as high as second in Cy voting.

I get the comparison, but he’s not a HOFer IMO.

it's not really about Blue vs Baxter it's about Blue and Baxter against our opponents

Not very concerned.
Because you think he’ll add more weight by the fall or he’ll be good at 218 again? Seems to be like he very much needs the weight to generate more power and avoid the constant ding up injuries, but your take on it means more than mine. Thanks.

Because I don't want him losing any explosiveness in the quest for more bulk

Wisner is a dawg, and he is going to show out when his time comes. I love Clark too. But the order should be Blue, Bax, Wisner, Clark.

I'd rather have explosion on the field than a guy who gets described by his energy and dog-ness.
