Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (IT'S HAPPENING!!!!)

Flight and Inside Man over American Gangter?? Smh 🤦🏽‍♂️

For giggles, here is how Rolling Stone magazine rated his movies from 2016:

1. Malcolm X
2. Training Day
3. Mo Better Blues
4. Flight
5. Mississippi Masala
6. Inside Man
7. Crimson Tide
8. The Mighty Quinn
9. Cry Freedom
10. Glory
11. The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3
12. Unstoppable
13. Out of Time
14. He Got game
15. Devil in a Blue Dress
16. Courage Under Fire
17. Philadelphia
18. American Gangster
19. The Hurricane
20. Remember The Titans
21. Man on Fire
22. Deja Vu
23. 2 Guns
24. Antwoine Fisher
Anybody that puts X over training day is trying too hard to have their opinions taken seriously.
Best and most “important” are frequently conflated concepts among film critics.

Aaaaand the rest of the list is hot garbage.

Mississippi masala above american gangster, Philadelphia, glory, 2 guns, man on fire, gtfo.

Tough calls had to be made. Have you watched it lately? It's aged poorly.
Honestly haven't seen it a some time. I remember being moved by the movie when it was released. However, did the story age, the cultural environment, personal expectations, etc as well as his acting. I thought he performed well regardless of the changing movie value. Point taken though.

The writing.

Not having Glory in the top two makes it hard for me to take your Denzel list seriously. It's number one for me by a long shot, but I wouldn't fault someone for putting it number two behind Training Day. Question, have you never seen The Book of Eli? For me that and Flight are neck-and-neck for number three.

As for your question, Tenet is in a league of its own. It is a dizzying intellectual exercise to follow (as most of Christopher Nolan's movies are), but is so rewarding with its moebius strip of story. I'd rate it above probably 15 out of the last twenty best picture winners. At least.

Is there a back story with MM? Is he a Texas fan or is it the Sark Cali connection?
Can he run?

Literally, no one except you has Glory in Denzel's top two, except you.

Interesting that you love Tenet. I haven't seen it yet, but it isn't being covered in glory right now.
