Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Losing the battle, but winning the war?)

You might want to find another metric to use in your quarterback analysis. You have Georgia’s quarterback (Beck) with a rating of 106.5 in the first quarter of yesterday’s game. Georgia had NINE yards of offense in the first quarter!
That rating reflects a shitty passing attack.

Agreed completely, speculation and I trust the guy that turned around this program from the last 14 disappointing years.

That's fine. I certainly don't know, but in the games Arch played more than a random snap or two, he excelled and propelled the offense in ways Quinn just doesn't. Granted it wasn't elite competition but still. It makes one wonder. Regardless, Sark has his hierarchy, and Quinn is the vet, and I believe Sark desperately wants to give Quinn every opportunity to be the man. It may come at a cost, but that's just my opinion man.

Guess I’ve been under a rock. Never heard of this Chalamet guy until Game Day.

Too occupied on OB to watch movies I guess 😒

You keep writing QB #'s and leaving out 6 or 7 drops. 1 of which cause and interception. 31 rushing yards. 6 or 7 sacks. 12 penalties for 94 yards. How does that corelate in your QB #'s? If it doesn't, then your whole QB system is flawed.

I also left out the interception that was dropped in the red zone that was so poor that it could have been fair caught.

Fascinating those things get left out.

12 and 2, now 11 and 2. Your opinion is worse than our running game last night.

Can you quote the part you disagree with?

I'd like to see what you're specifically upset about.

That SHOULD have been an INT. Also left out of the passing numbers are the YAC... Those receivers making the pass yardage look even better. But what do I know. I'm a "pants pisser."

@Ketchum You’ve been saying Quinn has to play better for weeks knowing full well that he’s reached his ceiling. He’s played at an elite level (>92 QBR) only one time in the last two seasons - against Okie Lite last year. He is who he is, and to think that he’s going to become something different in remaining games is fools gold.

Btw, Cam Ward has had 7 elite games just this year.

Per the QBR ratings, Quinn is the 32nd best QB in the country and yet we are ranked number 5. Per those numbers , at least 31 teams should be ranked ahead of us. In addition, we are the only team in the country to make the college football playoffs for the 2 years it has been played. Dos everyone who has been knocking Quinn’s play for the last 2 years think we could get better with anyone else? Everyone wants Arch now, saying he could or probably would do better than Quinn and I honestly hope he does, but what if he doesn’t? Quinn does have his problems, but based on QBR ratings, he shouldn’t be nor have been the UT QB for the last two years as there are 32 QB’s rated above him.
Just to be clear, people haven’t been knocking Quinn’s play “for the last two years”. People knocked his play in 2022 and 2024. And rightfully so. Quinn’s QBR:

2022: 50th.
2023: 15th.
2024: 33rd.

For comparison, let’s look at Sam Ehlinger’s ranking his last three years:

2018: 18
2019: 15
2020: 22

When Ewers was performing at Ehlinger’s level last season, people were not complaining. He met the expectations of good QB play. However, now that Ewers has regressed and no longer performs at Ehlinger’s level, people are rightfully complaining. Especially with Arch Manning on the sidelines. Now to your question, do we KNOW what will happen with Arch? Well his QBR for 2024 (with limited starts/snaps) is tied with Dillon Gabriel for 2nd in the country. So we have a pretty good idea of his potential.

And despite @Ketchum argument, Ehlinger is the 3rd best Texas QB modern era.

It's not that he has to be elite. He just needs to stop being statistically awful.

Slightly better than average wins yesterday.

I think I have stated all of it pretty specifically. I get it, you don't care what I think, I'm worth $10 to you. Because of Steve Sarkisian and Quinn Ewers I'm sure OB's #'s have soared. Doubt you'll miss me or remember me.

It wasn't any one player's fault.

He needs to play better.

Don't gaslight me. Come on.
You’re the one in this article, and on X, who has placed the focus on the reason for the loss on Quinn. And it’s just complete BS. The OL has been a major failure in two games against GA. That unit owns the biggest reason for the loss.

* 1 offensive touchdown
* 2 of 7 for 5 yards and a sack on his final 8 drop backs.
* Really poor middle 30 of the game.

That is what happened. It's BS to think that didn't significantly matter.

absolutely...GS got thrown to the wolves when he was nowhere near ready in NY...is there a parallel quite like his where a high pick is a bust & after kicking around for years gets another shot in his 30's & balls out ?

.
Eleven year NFL career...sounds awful. What an insult to QE.

Well... if Auburn hits those FGs we win. It's a lot of things.

Ketch- Will horns cancel the Ohio st / Michigan games (or any other future ones) given how little value SOS played a role from committee?

And why were the numbers so bad? I’ll help you. OL was terrible.

They won't, but if they lose even one of those games, it was a mistake to play the games.

Texas isn't scoring points, even when it does run the ball well.
We shall see. We got in the tournament. This is where the cream rises to the top. If our Oline plays well we will win it. If it doesn't well....

I don't think it's that simple.

If it is, just don't play UGA again.
