Ketch's 10 Thoughts From The Weekend (Mother of God)

I called you out last week for not putting the baseball team as the top story. Looks like another week was convincing. This is a special team. Thanks for the post. Good write up on baseball (and our other sports as well)

The Woodlands Marathon used to be worse. They used to tie up both Woodlands Parkway and Research Forest.

@Ketchum Totally agree on The Batman. Good move, definitely dark compared to past Batman movies. Not up to the level of the Nolan Batman's but those are some of my favorite movies ever. I was entertained, but I'll admit I was ready for it to end. Definitely about 30-40 minutes too long.

@Ketchum

The PF Top 10 came at a perfect time. I'd broken out my old CDs from the 80's and 90's and had begun going through all my old Pink Floyd albums. Amazing how much better old CDs sound than streaming music does. Wish I had them in vinyl, but old CDs and an Oppo make for a great pairing!

When I was probably 12-15 I listened to Pink Floyd non-stop it seemed. My mother hated them...lol! Then I discovered the Pixies...she hated them too! Speaking of which...a Pixies Top 10 would be cool!

IF you get an opportunity to see The Pink Floyd Exhibition do it.

My Batman grade B-. Too long. Not a fan of Pattinson in the role. But props to the storyline.

Personally fond of Learning to Fly, which is also a great song by Tom Petty (best 2 songs with same title ever).

With the new Tears For Fears album out, you should listen to their 7 albums and try to make a top 10…not easy.

Oh man, i live in a different neighborhood than you do. It’s almost impossible to imagine not having “one of these days” way up there. It’s basically the first great song, on the first great record of Pink Floyd’s.

I don’t pretend to argue with folks who like the Wall more, or Dark Side more. Or Animals. All of 1-8 are arguable. But 10/9 are really really suspect. There are multiple songs off of E/DSOTM/WUWH/A/W that are better. I will admit there are people scared of One of These Days and its their least favorite Floyd song. But, for most of us, its top 5.

The scary thing is that Brennan is likely to run an even better (perhaps substantially) time by the end of track season.
Yes, I take this week's times and all times that aren't at district, regional or state meets with a grain of salt, but he might hit that at some point.

@Ketchum I skimmed this article about blue shirts. It seems that players can be blue shirted (not count against the 25 man limit) if they don’t take an official visit, and coaches don’t do an in-home. I noticed that Mathis specified in his Posts that this visit was unofficial. If the coaches don’t do an in-home, it would seem he could be blue shirted. Do any other players fit this criteria?

I don't believe so. They'd likely have to go with the grayshirt option.

Ketch. As a big Pink Floyd fan, great list. I would move a couple around, yet no arguments here. Would want to try and work in One Of These Days and On The Turning Away into the top 10, yet they have too many great songs. With many of these songs though, check out the live recorded versions from Delicate Sound of Thunder. \m/
I'll take it! Thanks!

That felt like a Director's Cut.

I don't know if I have a Pixies Top 10 in me. ;)

I liked Pattinson. His eyes have an ability to tell a story in that suit, which is easier said than done.

I need to listen to the new album after the thread about it from earlier in the week.

Thanks. I’m pretty optimistic about Mathis being able to blue shirt though. The ‘unofficial’ classification of this visit seems to be highlighted in a way I don’t recall before.

They would never blue shirt him.

@Ketchum thanks for doing the Pink Floyd list 1-8 are all absolutely great jams. I’d probably insert some different ones in 9 and 10 and first out section. They have a ton of masterpieces so it’s really just what style of Pink Floyd one prefers. I find myself going to different albums strictly based on mood and what I’m doing. Loved the write ups below each song selected. Awesome work

You’re crazy if you didn’t think that avatar, followed by the name went mildly unrecognized.

You just discredited every defense you’ve made to the infamous “damn good coach” moment by using that term to describe this baseball team.

No. 10 - And Finally...

I caught The Batman this weekend and I'm somewhere between an A-/B+ on the grade scale for it.

Thought it was a JV version of Seven with a little bit of The Crow mixed into it.

It's about 30 minutes too long, but I was into it the entire way.
Colin Farrell as the penguin was great. reminded me of DeNiro/Pesci in any gangster/mobster movie ever. I dug it.

section 8 is just you putting in your tweets from the weekend lol, I was like these sound familiar

They would never blue shirt him.
I mean, it’s just a loophole if they can reel him in without doing an in-home visit at this point (unless the in-home was already done).

Is it possible to NOT being able to catch passes than Alexander Wright?

You can always count on me sneaking a couple of sneaky favorites into each list. ;)

It absolutely went unrecognized by many in that thread. Even Suchomel didn't notice.

My "damn good" comment was very tongue in cheek.

The mack-up person deserves an Oscar nom in 2023 for that.

I think him being from Manor makes the unofficial visit a lot easier to pull off. They can still use the official later in the spring, which is a sign IMO.

I definitely noticed that it was Quandre who posted the Goat thread. He is entitled to his opinion even if it is wrong. That being said it certainly was a heck of a performance from LBJ.
