Always blown my mind how short the Beatles career is. Their catalog is so vast and varied that you have to break it up and they lasted for ~7 years. Think about that. Highlighting the before and after Rubber Soul time frames.

@Ketchum Now that you’ve done the GOAT with The Beatles, have you ever done their more modern cousin, Tears for Fears?
In 1959 George was 16, Paul 17 and John 18. In 1963 they were 20, 21 and 23 respectively, and when finished in 1970 they were 27, 28 and 30. IncredibleJohn, Paul, and George were together and writing songs starting in 1959. 1963 is just when they started getting noticed.
British band with two main singers and songwriters with a variety of complicated and melodic songs…they’re not The Beatles (no band is) but all their albums are strong and at times have a Beatlesque vibe. What?!? I like TforT, but they are nowhere close to The Beatles. They don’t have near the catalog, and only “The Seeds of Love” comes close to being Beatle-like with its Sargent Pepper feel to it.
No email for Ketch from Elon. Coming strong sick.
Shirley that won’t give me a ride to Siberia?
Solid list, you deserve credit for just taking that on.They were cranking it out. That money wasn't going to make itself.![]()
My mom RIP loved the Beatles and I played Let it be at her funeral. Good number 1.![]()

Your boy Kurt Cobain worshipped them.
Love Akina. I think this is too much turnover for a team that hopes to compete for a NC next year.Akina coming back makes me happy!
Sometimes one has to examine the bigger picture, and ask has anything changed, that might affect the previous calculus. College sports has become huge money, as have the costs of facilities and operations. Now add NIL and rev share. CDCs ego isn’t bigger than his desire to make the $s work. Any coach that is underperforming on revenue is on a VERY hot seat in this new world. Terry’s future is going to be all about what revenue the team is delivering. None of us know where CDC has set that bar, but I’m confident he is gone or he stays, based on that, much more so than his record, albeit the two are usually highly correlated, especially in non-football sports at UT. So, expect short fuses to become a more regular thing, if there are not butts in seats and the revenue ain’t happening. My point is that people want something to happen to Terry that has never happened at UT, and that is extremely rare when it happens anywhere else. And, it's usually because that coach has won 25% of their games or fewer. In other words, firing after a second season needs egregious results.
People are missing the story here because that haven't stopped to examine the circumstances and the rarity it represents. CDC will not fire Terry after this season because the only justification for doing so requires him to admit Terry’s coaching record before the Texas job was not Texas-worthy, which only amplifies the mistake of naming him head coach.
Don’t forget Sark’s already done the search. He was his hire just a couple years ago, until Akina was offered a DC slot. Sark is just following through on the work he already did. Not a surprise at all. That's my problem with it...Duane is a great fellow and a fine coach, or was. What happened to Sark taking his time for the right hire, usually a young stud. Duane is 68 years old. Not the usual Sark taking his time and interviewing young studs for fit.
Again, great guy...but kinda shocking immediate hire. Doubt he's here for more than next season, possibly two at most. Got to be a young, stud coach and recruiter out there that will come. I will say energy was never a problem for Akina while he was here, but that was almost 15 years ago.
Hope it works out, especially in recruiting. No doubt he can coach, hope he still likes 4 corners philosophy (move 2 to safety) and man coverage. Always liked that.
Great fellow...hope it works out fine.
I went 20+ years w/o calling anyone a bad name. At least that I can remember. Probably an OB record. Cut me some slack, I have the flu! We'll see. I'm probably still a dick head.
I got arguments all over the place on the Beatles list(s). But that says more about their body of work than about your choices. The addition that I might argue that is not on any of your lists is The Long and Winding Road, but don't make me choose what to eliminate from your list...
No. 10 – The List: The Beatles
I'm sure no one will disagree with this undertaking. Before we get to the Top 10, let's break the songs down into tiers.
The John List: 1. Come Together 2. Strawberry Fields Forever 3. Twist and Shout 4. Dear Prudence 5. Yer Blues 6. Across The Universe 7. Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds 8. I Am The Walrus 9. You've Really Got a Hold On Me 10. Help!
The Paul List: 1. Hey Jude 2. Yesterday 3. Let It Be 4. Eleanor Rigby 5. Here, There and Everywhere 6. Kansas City/ Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey 7. Can't Buy Me Love 8. Why Don't We Do It In The Road? 9. Helter Skelter 10. Two Of Us
The John/Paul List: 1. A Day In The Life 2. I Want To Hold Your Hand 3. In My Life 4. A Hard Day's Night 5. She Loves You 6. She's Leaving Home 7. I Saw Her Standing There 8. I've Got a Feeling 9. Ticket To Ride 10. Love Me Do
The George/Ringo List: 1. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 2. Something 3. Roll Over Beethoven 4. I Be Mine 5. With a Little Help From My Friends
Pre-Rubber Soul: 1. Yesterday 2. I Want To Hold Your Hand 3. Twist and Shout 4. A Hard Day's Night 5. I Saw Her Standing There 6. Kansas City/ Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey 7. Roll Over Beethoven 8. Can't Buy Me Love 9. You've Really Got a Hold On Me 10. Help!
Post-Rubber Soul: 1. Hey Jude 2. A Day In The Life 3. Let It Be 4. Come Together 5. Eleanor Rigby 6. While My Guitar Gently Weeps 7. In My Life 8. Strawberry Fields Forever 9. Dear Prudence 10. Something
With my notes out of the way, let's get on with the list …
Last five songs out: A Hard Day's Night, Something, Dear Prudence, Can't Buy Me Love and Twist and Shout
10. In My Life - I don't care who wrote what, I just know that it's next to impossible to leave this song out of a top 10 list.
9. While My Guitar Gently Weeps - George Harrison's masterpiece. It's ironic that the band broke up right at the moment when he was truly reaching his creative best.
8. Strawberry Fields Forever - John's most beautiful song in a catalog full of beauties.
7. Eleanor Rigby - One of my favorite Paul songs and my vote for the best song on Revolver.
6. I Want To Hold Your Hand - This is the song that changed rock and roll forever and kick-started America's love affair. Yes, the sophistication of the songwriting and sound evolved from this moment on, but there's a beautiful romantic nature to the song 50 years later.
5. Come Together - 100% rock and roll heat for the ages.
4. Let It Be - There are some things in this world that can't be helped and my playing this song at least three times in a row every time I hear it is one of them.
3. Yesterday - Personally, this is one of my favorite songs in existence. It's just a timeless beauty of a record and it foreshadowed the fearlessness that would eventually become a staple of their work.
2. A Day In The Life - It's the perfect selection for the No. 1 choice in my mind because it's a true collaboration between John and Paul, and it occurs as the group was reaching its pinnacle in terms of creating the kind of music that transcended what others had ever thought of creating. It's just a masterpiece of a song.
1. Hey Jude - Sometimes you just have to pick the obvious choice. A decade of Premier League soccer lets me know that there's this song and then the rest when it comes to the Brits.
It’s worth noting how Terry got this job. That’s different than any other coach that I can remember. Ie, it’s easier to have a quicker trigger because of those circumstances. My point is that people want something to happen to Terry that has never happened at UT, and that is extremely rare when it happens anywhere else. And, it's usually because that coach has won 25% of their games or fewer. In other words, firing after a second season needs egregious results.

He hasn't overachieved.Okay I’ll walk it back. He has underachieved.
All I can tell you is that the song is played like a national anthem in the UK and i splayed by soccer clubs from all regions of the country.@Ketchum My mind is not what it used to be, however Hey Jude is like fingernails on a chalk board. I can think of 30 and counting better songs by the best band of all time. I am going to sleep now and I will wake to "Here comes the sun!"
I totally get it.My point is that people want something to happen to Terry that has never happened at UT, and that is extremely rare when it happens anywhere else. And, it's usually because that coach has won 25% of their games or fewer. In other words, firing after a second season needs egregious results.

I know. I've kept my eye on it,.In case you didn’t know it Ketch hockey has a bigger story this year besides the nations. Someone is about to become the greatest scorer of all time and pass the great Gretzky.
That's my problem with it...Duane is a great fellow and a fine coach, or was. What happened to Sark taking his time for the right hire, usually a young stud. Duane is 68 years old. Not the usual Sark taking his time and interviewing young studs for fit.

Solid movie. I enjoyed it.Nice writing for a guy battling illness. Hope you get well soon, @Ketchum .
Beatles so many good songs.
Check out "Yesterday " about a musician who has a traumatic accident.... I don't want to give it away, but it's well done. Get better, sir🤘🏻😊
Texas needs a game-changer more than it needs a bowling ball. Gibson can be the bowling ball.People keep bringing up 5’7” 195 Jaheim White. If we go to the portal for a Rb, even as dynamic as White is this offensive seems desperate for an elite RB with size.
No Penny Lane, no Paperback Writer, no I'm only Sleeping, no I'll Be Back, which is a perhaps the Beatles' most uniquely structured song, with two bridges, no chorus, and a major-minor twist that must have come from the divine, inspired cosmos?
Ooooooh.... never, Ill do them this week.@Ketchum Now that you’ve done the GOAT with The Beatles, have you ever done their more modern cousin, Tears for Fears?
... I kind of want Joel Embiid to sit out the rest of the season and never play another game for the franchise. It's over. He's the best Sixers player of my lifetime, but the time has come to move on.
you only 15 years old? Joel is better than AI? Better than Barkley? Dr.J? Just wow. Embiid is over rated… by at least you.
I keep trying to find hoops recruits to get updates on and there just aren't any.I just noticed Texas basketball recruiting was ranked 75th in the country for 2025. That’s pathetic. The head coach has to go.
