I expect him to be a stud.I think he was the first 5.9 so he missed "super blue chip" by 1 spot in the national rankings. Kid is a stud though. Also @Ketchum have their been any notes on Jelani Mcdonald? I know he was a bit further down at #97 nationally but still a fantastic athlete who could have been considered for super blue status.
If they get good quarterback play, they can still do some damage. The roster is still loaded. How many people wound up with egg on their face by predicting that the Aggies would win something? Almost all of them.
Almost everyone is young. Very few teams have a bunch of older guys.I got a little number nerdy and became curious. What if you took each recruiting service and found their Super Blue Chip Mark. What it becomes is Rivals 6.0+, On3 96+, 247 96+, ESPN 85+. Now, if you look at each of the top rosters and count the guys that were a Super Blue in at least one of the services, here are the numbers:
Bama - 47
UGA - 45
Ohio State - 32
Texas - 25
Clemson - 24
LSU - 22
Aggy - 22
USC - 19
OU - 17
Michigan - 11
So similar to Ketch's report, it's Bama and UGA, then Ohio State, then the cluster of teams with Texas, Clemson, LSU and Aggy. It would be interesting to put a multiplier on each of these guys based on number of starts or experience to see which of these teams have extremely experienced Super Blue Chips vs young ones. Texas seems to have a pretty good mix of young and experienced.
Same for Texas. The talent is there for Texas to win the Big12 moreso than in any other season the last decade+. The success of this team will hinge on Quinn's right arm. That worries me.If they get good quarterback play, they can still do some damage. The roster is still loaded.
The only difference is that A&M has slightly oder players.Same for Texas. The talent is there for Texas to win the Big12 moreso than in any other season the last decade+. The success of this team will hinge on Quinn's right arm. That worries me.
I’m less worried about the QB, than at any other point in time, since Colt left.Same for Texas. The talent is there for Texas to win the Big12 moreso than in any other season the last decade+. The success of this team will hinge on Quinn's right arm. That worries me.
That is the reason why I keep harping on the need to aggressively substitute/rotate our players to develop the young players and prepare for the conference championship and playoffs. The only difference is that A&M has slightly oder players.
Nearly half of Texas' super blue chips are freshmen.
I’m less worried about the QB, than at any other point in time, since Colt left.
you are not wrong. That is the reason why I keep harping on the need to aggressively substitute/rotate our players to develop the young players and prepare for the conference championship and playoffs.
I started to say outside of Sam but I think I had more questions about the QB then than I do now but it's close.Less than in 2019 coming off the Sygar Bowl?

**EDIT - Not questions so much as a comfort level with talent, coaching, and surrounding playmakers.
You made it pretty apparent with your charts and words.you are not wrong.
I just threw up in my mouth. That dude is always open. This is just two seasons ago. It doesn't include all of the ones from last year.
It's crazy to think what his numbers could beI just threw up in my mouth. That dude is always open.
Was right there witcha. Unforgettable show.Saw the Clash at Austin City Coliseum in 82. My half brother (RIP) took me. 11 years old and hanging with the punk kids. Man, wag at a memory. Hot as absolute balls in there and loud AF. Loved the Clash ever since.
The highlight? Was right there witcha. Unforgettable show.
I listen to the Clash most days. Have to admit i don't read stats about stars most days.Ihave to say, there was more Clash reaction than I expected.
but, you did on this day!I listen to the Clash most days. Have to admit i don't read stats about stars most days.

Agree - super powerful! This. The movie is powerful. A must see.
Most don't care about education as much as they care about football. No one should beat us on NIL as a clincher variable. Do the kids even care about an education? Worthy is a badass. Imagine the record books if he stayed 4 years? He would own all the receiving ones.
From your keyboard to the football gods' ears.2023 Texas WR room going to rival the 2019 LSU season
Ja'Marr Chase 1,780 20 TD Xavier Worthy 1,320 17 TD
Justin Jefferon 1,540 18 TD AD Mitchell 1,105 12 TD
Terrance Marshall 671 13 TD Jordan Whittington 680 5 TD
Thaddeus Moss 570 4 TD JT Sanders 810 8 TD
Racey McMath 285 3 TD Johntay Cook 670 9 TD
Derrick Dillon 202 2 TD Isaiah Neyor 485 6 TD
if you were going to tweak the numbers what would you change? I know I shot for the sky. From your keyboard to the football gods' ears.
Unless the receiver isn't catching the ball enough. It's one thing to get wide-ass open, and another thing to catch the ball.a. He does need to catch the ball better. Too many drops last season, but that tends to happens when a team is over-depending on a guy that's hurt.
b. He does need to pout less. I was the first person to say that last year.
c. In the NFL, all they will want him to do is get wide ass open and if the quarterback can't hit open receivers, they change the quarterback.... not the wide receiver.
There's a hell of a lot more of the former than the problem with the latter.Unless the receiver isn't catching the ball enough. It's one thing to get wide-ass open, and another thing to catch the ball.
