It is a tried and true approach on kids from smaller towns.I don’t doubt that but I hope it’s a hollow approach. Certainly doesn’t seem to hurt Ohio State. Columbus isn’t a mega city but it’s a city full of Midwestern assholes.
Defensive play makers:
O'shown
Collins
Jamison
Jerrin Thompson
Richardson
I'd think 5 at this moment.Don't they have to take 5 kids at least on the OL
I'd think you'd always want to have some room... never 25 in a class ever again.
The 25 rule numbers have to be amended fairly soon
It’s like when you didn’t take the upcoming playoff expansion into your buy/sell answer for sark making the playoffs just a few weeks before it was announced when all the signs were pointing that way
The better your roster the less likely a portal kid will help. We had a deficiency in LB/DE, DB and speed at WR/RB. I think there will always be a few slots but, I don't know that you save 5. I'd think 2-3.Lot of self interests in the group that will decide such a thing that will take some time to sort through.
2-3 left this year keeps Texas from adding Devin Richardson and Keilan Robinson. The better your roster the less likely a portal kid will help. We had a deficiency in LB/DE, DB and speed at WR/RB. I think there will always be a few slots but, I don't know that you save 5. I'd think 2-3.
That is for this year. Do we have the same depth issues in the 2nd year with Sark as many of them were addressed this year via recruiting and portal. In general portal kids are "moving down" or a late developer ie mid major kids wanting to play P5. How many portal kids did Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Oklahoma take?2-3 left this year keeps Texas from adding Devin Richardson and Keilan Robinson.
Yes, I'm projecting Texas to still need some portal help in a year from now. That is for this year. Gracias.Great write up as always Ketch!
Yeah I didn't mean that all those guys are proven. Twas just a prediction.None of those guys are really proven in that capacity. Let's keep it a buck. I'm not saying they don't have that kind of ability,. but...
Overshown has flashed playmaking, but he isn't a consistent game-changer.
Jamison had created zero turnovers last season.
Guys have to step up, but they didn't last year in that way.
Oh, I know. I'm just done personally with the prediction thing with these defensive players. I feel like they always under-deliver.Yeah I didn't mean that all those guys are proven. Twas just a prediction.
