Probably because they gave the ball to the Fridge at the goal line.Walter has a ring, How could you forget the 85 Bears?

Ok. Well that’s At Least good to hear. Hopefully our wr coach with zero college experience doesn’t set us back with wr recruiting.Yes.
Not recruits plural. This is simply specific to this recruitment.
Sayers almost made the list. He received strong consideration, along with Marcus Allen and Thurman Thomas. When it was 3rd and 7 between the 20s Bum knew he could call on #34 and there was a better than 50% chance he'd make the first down.
Good list on the RBs. One could argue the ORDER, but that is an awful strong list. Not saying who I'd take out of that top 10, but if you didn't see Gayle Sayers play, then that's the only reason he wouldn't be there for you.
This article was the tits.
He made those teams great as much as any player on that team,You’re giving smith way too much credit for paying on great teams versus the other rbs on the list
But that’s just my two cents
It's not terrible. He's more accomplished than Mack was, though, I'd say.Could a good comparison for Pierce be pre-title Mack (hell, both coached at Tulane)? Lots of consistent winning the first 6-7 years, but couldn’t fully get over the hump until Mack broke through in years 7 and 8.
Mistake on my part and I fixed it.Emmitt had 3 times as many Super Bowl rings? Didn’t Payton and Brown have 2 between them?
State of Texas is loaded with wide receivers. Texas will absolutely land a few studs.
CS is the must have not MH
I don't think it's something that Texas can't come back from, but there is a fracture of sorts that exists.Yeah, I kind of sensed that was what you were getting at, and that's the most ominous part of it.
Emmitt has the numbers. Barry was a better running back.I have no problem with where you put Emmitt but I cant wait to read the amount of hate you are about to receive for doing it 🤣
He made those teams great as much as any player on that team,
'
See the 1993 season when the team went 0-2 without him to start the season.
Nikola Jokic is some kind of player and he's on the cusp of adding the word "champion" next to his name. No one has come out and said it, but we're looking at an all-time top-20 kind of player (and climbing).
... I'm not really into slamming LeBron James for his failures as a 38-year-old player any more than I was a fan of doing it to Michael Jordan when he was a shell of himself and mostly floundering with the Washington Wizards. Find something else to do. Their legacies are fully secure.
... The new White Men Can't Jump movie needs to be avoided at all costs. Trust me.
So Hudson has a problem with the staff? Are they not making him feel special?
It's possible, but I don't think that is an apples to apples conversation.I think the Hudson recruitment is going to play out like Vasek last year
Emmitt has the rings, the numbers and was at his best in the biggest moments.Emmitt has the numbers. Barry was a better running back.
Who's CS??Generally speaking, that's fair.
lulz. ok.Sure I know that’s the example given
But compare his teammates and roster compared to Barry sanders teams - or oj simpsons - I mean we aren’t even talking the same stratosphere- football is so much more a team sport than basketball etc - Derek jeter isn’t really some all time great compared to mike trout - in football and baseball titles are much overrated in determining individual players all time placement - it just is what it is
Gale sayers is a big omission imo also
Smith makes my top ten but more in the 7-9 range or so
Agreed on all 3. Jokic only needs a title/finals MVP to secure his eventual place as a top 20 all time player.
LeBron has played 65,000 career minutes in the NBA in the regular season/playoffs combined, which is effectively tied with Kareem for the most all-time, and he is STILL averaging 24/10/6 in the playoffs. By comparison, Kareem averaged 11 points and 4 rebounds per game in his final playoffs. What do people realistically expect from LeBron? LeBron is a better player in his 20th season than Jordan was in his 15th season, and frankly it isn't even close.
I can't believe Ron Shelton attached his name to the new White Men Can't Jump movie. Unlike LeBron, THAT is how you destroy your legacy.
lulz. ok.
Derek Jeter would be a good comparison... if he was also the all-time hit or home run king at the same time.
Take another sing.
They get eliminated in the 1992 NFC title game and never win a Super Bowl.Put Barry on those Cowboy teams and we are talking about him being the greatest football player of all time. This is akin to an MJ/Lebron argument for me. Emmitt was the best player on his team maybe one or two years. Barry was the best player every year by a wide margin. There are probably 20 cowboys I take over the next best Lion.
Not sure that's an issue. We need more $100 handshakes than Tech
who are you ranking above him?I wasn’t saying smith was jeter - I was making a point about championships and how people rank players
Jeter is considered a top all time player and it isn’t warranted
I think smith is a top 10 all time rb - razor thin margins we are talking about it isn’t an insult
“In almost every sport at Texas, a Brian Kelly-level coach would mostly be embraced, but when you've had a Nick (Augie) or a Kirby (Gus) for nearly 50 consecutive seasons, quite a shadow forms.”
Nice write up on many points. But don’t forget Bibb Falk’s record at Texas. If I remember right, as coach at UT, his teams won the conference 20 out of 25 years. His first name is also rare.
They get eliminated in the 1992 NFC title game and never win a Super Bowl.
Again, in the biggest gam of his life, Barry rushed for 44 yards.
In a game that was 17-10 at halftime. It wasn't in him to do more.
who are you ranking above him?
In 6 career playoff games, Barry Sanders cracked 70 or more yards one time.
