Netflix series "Godless"

It was built out of iron and bricks. They made a point of holding up in that bldg for that very reason.

all true ..but most of Franks gang didnt know that and its not like the furniture etc wounldnt have caught. it still could have smoked them out or at least giving the ladies something else to think about rather than pouring bullets down at the gang. why even torch the other buildings? plot could have skipped that whole exercise.

didnt see frank going that way either... really thought the whole "i know how i go" act was going to offer up a better show down. i thought the first 5 times he said that it was kind of silly but it grew on me as part of his character.

There was a line in an earlier episode that detailed that the LA Belle Hotel had been built in all brick and iron. Torching the wooden walkways in front could have worked though.

Nonetheless it sure seems that Frank and the Goons did not exactly put together any sort of plan at all.

exactly.. after their attack on the Buffalo Soldiers that was a sloppy next step.

hated seeing the Buffalo Soldier ending . bad asses.

I figured since Frank and his boys read the paper, and knew it was all women down there, they didn't really need a plan. Just go down and smoke em all. They knew the Buffalo soldiers were formidable, since they had already encountered them years before.

I was disappointed that Callie didn't go over and shoot Mr. Grigg, though. He needed to die.

It was just ok for me. I must have fell asleep during this part, but still don’t understand why Roy Goode left Frank’s squad? Seems to me Frank was pretty good to that boy. I mean took him in after Roy tried to steal his horse, taught him skills, and treated him like family. Of course if somebody did that for me I’d want to screw him over too. No wonder Frank was pissed!!

He left because one of the members dared to open and read the letter from his brother.

I'm a huge fan of American Westerns. Especially those that dip at least a foot in the mud, towards depicting the world of the cowboys in at least a halfway realistic way.

Anybody out there watched "Godless" yet?
Does it make the cut, and is it worth the seven hours of time?

Or are the characters wearing makeup and hair product, wearing pressed clothing, and walking around on pretty, groomed streets?
Knocked it out a few weeks ago. Worth it.

Throw in a badass Eastwood-like hero named Roy Goode, sweeten it with some Michelle Dockery, great cinematography, and a 2010s PC-hybrid of heavy Wild Bunch gunplay with a light seasoning of Lonesome Dove, and you come up with a pretty damn good post-modern Western. 7.5 or 8.0 on a 10 scale.

Got the Rona and need good rec’s for series and/or movies. Heard Godless was worthwhile. What say you?
I say YES. One of the best western shootouts you will see of late. (near the end) You felt it was coming and it did.
