The reality is I don't have a single feeling about NS other than they don't seem to want to look at Texas because Texas has guys committed who come from Duncanville. I would like for Texas to develop a pipeline to North Shore but I'm not either angry or bitter at them. The only school I don't like is Converse Judson, that goes back 30 years.
You guys need to deal with it, North Shore is overrated.

North Shore was ranked #2 in the Country. Katy not ranked. Should I list all the publications that listed NS #1 to start the season? I think all of them.
How many had Katy in the top 10, top 20?

Losing to a powerhouse program like Katy by a field goal is far from overrated. I think you are forgetting to mention that Katy was ranked # 5 in the state in 6A just behind Dumcanville, Allen and Lake Travis. This isn’t the first time for a top ranked team to get knocked off and it won’t be the last.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe 2008 Oklahoma was the best team in the country and Texas got lucky. Maybe they deserved to go and play Florida and not us. I like to think my eyes and my experience are a really good judge of football quality. After all I've been around the game for a long time. You guys are more like aggys than you think. It wasn't about the score it was about the game itself. If you didn't watch the game you would never know how dominate one team looked. Katy obliterated the North Shore offense the entire 2nd half. I wish I had stats that shows shows just how one sided it was. Katy's offense was able to move the ball, while NS didn't do a thing.
You have tied yourself to NS acting like you are some kind of insider to their program. I'm just commenting on a game where the losing team looked like poo and the underdog beat them pretty soundly. It might have only shown up in a 3 pt win, but that wasn't what I saw.
Anyone suggests that Katy didn't absolutely dominate NS in the 2nd half of that game is in denial.

Nobody is in denial about how Katy won that game. Just simply stating that North Shore is far from overrated. He is acting like some no name school came in and beat them. I mean Katy is a perennial powerhouse year in and year out. No shame in losing to them. Great teams lose all the time but just because they get knocked off every once in a while does not mean they are overrated.
Well said. If Duncanville loses a game this year in the regular season, that doesn't mean that they're overrated either. Sometimes it happens. The Astros are a better team this year than they were when they won the WS in 2017. If they don't win the WS this year, it doesn't mean that they were overrated. Sometimes good teams just get beat by other good teams.
I am very close to the North Shore program and know a lot about their players and coaches. Yes, Katy dominated them in the trenches. Trust me, the NS coaches know this and they will work their butts off to make the necessary adjustments. Come playoff time, and in a rematch, I'll take NS over Katy. Katy is very well coached, but so is North Shore.

While that may be true, the simple fact that any organization thinks that they can rank the top 20 high school teams in the country is laughable. What possible criteria or comparison could they use to make those decisions?

Yes I do. Talent isn't exclusive to any area. I remember a few years back when Euless Trinity played a school from Salt Lake city. Both were nationally ranked. the SLC school came down to Texas and got killed. Then Trinity went up there the next year and got trounced.
It's a zero sum game. Every year things change, there is no carry over. Gorman High school in Las Vegas is a prime example. They often go toe to toe with the top high schools in California and beat them.
Weather we accept that the rankings are legit or not is immaterial. No one questioned them when North Shore won the national title last year. You can't dismiss them because they don't fit our argument. Last year when I watched IMG play Mater Dei, I didn't come away saying one team was overrated. If you saw the game you came away knowing both schools were bad ass and would wreck shop the rest of the year.
I cam away from the NS game scratching my head how one team could be so highly ranked and look so bad. Their offense was obliterated by Katy. Their defense did a great job but got worn down as they were on the field most of the 2nd half.

Well it was the first game of the year. North Shore was just not as well conditioned as Katy was. National rankings don’t mean shit to me, especially the first week of the season. Talk to me at the end of December when it’s state championship week and tell me if you think North Shore is still overrated. I have no idea if NS will win state again and betting on them to do so is irrelevant to this conversation. High school polls are about the dumbest thing ever, especially national polls. So few of these teams ever get to play eachother.
Katy is vastly "underrated" which is why I dont put stock into your bellicose claims that the mighty North Shore has been exposed by an "unranked" team.
Its pure hyperbole and you refuse to see it. If NS loses 3 games this year then youre onto something, but a week one loss by 3 points to a team that was named national champions just 2 or 3 years ago hardly belies the "overrated" schtick.
Wow. North Shore has everyone back from injuries and suspension and they are crushing undefeated Beaumont Westbrook on the road 33-13 at the half. Can't wait for the rematch against Katy at NRG in the playoffs. Will be a hell of a game!

I went to West Brook. It has been cool to see the school have a lot of success recently. My Soph and Junior years we were 2-8 each year. My senior year (with a new coach and spread offense) we were 8-2 (cancelled 3 games due to Hurricane Rita) and went 3 rounds in the playoffs (lost to Katy and Andy Dalton). Since then, the school has at least been a regular in the playoffs and lost in the championship just last year. All that to say, West Brook has come a long way in the last decade but still isn't a power program like North Shore. Also, we are Div 2 6A so are still quite outmatched by these mega Div 1 schools.
