So Pierce leaves in Zane in way to long and we lose the series! Gotta be kidding me! Bases loaded no outs and he still leaves Zane Moreruns in!

He's just never going to learn. I basically made up my mind on Pierce when he tried to give away the game in our second CWS contest against MSU in 2021 by doing this exact same shit. Really just waiting for his time here to be over, one way or another.
He's not a CDC hire so he will give him time to mess this up and go get someone he wants there. DP is not terrible but he's definitely not an elite coach.
Yes but this year teams like TCU in fb, and, actually the whole March madness taught us that you don't have to be an elite team to advance. We did it in bb who says we can't do it in baseball?
Still some time left, so there is a chance. But did you see the records of the teams you said weren't elite? They all had elite records, whether it was the ncaa men's final 4 teams or TCU.
Honestly where they are at now compared to where I thought they would be after those first 4 games is better off. I thought the season was going to be really bad after that first weekend.
Maybe we can get Tanner Witt back soon and really help our rotation. I know that’s wishful thinking though coming off the tommy John surgery.
But before all that..... Ole Miss won the College Baseball National Championship last season. Their record going into post season play was 32-22. (final record 42-23)

I just don’t see anything about him or the way he’s built the program that stands out as “great”. Like I said I think he will always have Texas competitive we will never be bad with him. Just don’t think we will ever be great. My opinion disagree if you want
You never know in Baseball. The best team doesn't always win the game or the World Series. You have to build a team that will put you into good position to win it all and then hope you get some luck when you need it. So far he has put the team in position to compete and win but hasn't had the luck on our side in the World Series. Last year when Melendez went into his biggest slump of the year during the World Series was a killer, I don't think he even got a hit. The repercussions of Witt getting hurt didn't show until tournament time either. Having an extra ace would have been a game changer.
I do think that if they can make the post season and get Witt ready for the post season that could be akin to making a trade before the deadline. You never know with TJ recovery but could be a difference maker.
Yes-- 20-3 looks impressive on paper.
But then go back and look at the teams we beat. There aren't any teams that I think will be pushing for a post season bid. We dropped 2 out of 3 to okie light. We beat k st 2 out of 3-- which is good.
I miss gorilla ball.
I miss hot bats.
I miss 40 home runs.
This is a solid scrappy team. And for what it’s worth 40 HRs has only happened 4 times in all of college baseball history.
If we can get our bullpen on point we have a chance IF our bats can get it together then we have a fighting chance. It shows with okie lite what a crap bullpen will do and if I am not mistaken game 2 of the k state series as well
My thoughts the same. Pierce was throwing in the bench for some quality time. It was just a matter of time before the baseball lads had a dull moment. The weekend starting and mid inning pitching is solid. Game 5 caught up to them this week with the way the weather worked out.
I don't even want to talk about the piss poor coaching this weekend and play of this baseball team. Blowu was coming in with 4 wins in conference play.....first time ever in history they sweep us at home and first sweep since 1998. Pierce is not the coach to lead us into the sec, so cdc needs to get it together and figure out a new coach.
The sweep against the last place gooners hurt our chances of hosting a regional and now we are tied for 4th in the conference. Pierce needs to go!
How does the guy pick the worst pitchers at the worst moment? Or wait to pull them after the worst moment? Weird weekend for sure.
Bad luck? Friday was rock solid pitching, but only one run. Saturday 8 quick runs, tough to claw back from that deficit. Got close but… then Sunday a lucky 3 run HR off a great pitch. Conversely we nab 5 1 run innings including a couple of 1 run dingers. Pretty solid defense throughout. OU pitching suddenly found a strike zone. We walked enough passengers to fill a 747. This was just a cursed weekend. Nothing fell in place.
However, how ‘bout them softball babes?
