Official NCAA Big Dance thread----

Tech is getting hosed by the refs. Florida is as physical as it wants and Tech gets called for any physicality.

Rare for you too.
Hmmm. Okay.
NCAA Tournament Final Four
1943, 1947, 2003
NCAA Tournament Elite Eight
1939, 1943, 1947, 1990, 2003, 2006, 2008
NCAA Tournament Sweet Sixteen
1960, 1963, 1972, 1990, 1997, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008

Sooooooooo we've got tech, kansas st and kansas in the sweet 16 with west Virginia playing for a spot......

Aggy would be celebrating their conference being such a strong conference, I'm pissed that the likes of k state get in and we sh!t the bed....

Oh look...... nevada beat cinci......... jesus h christ...

West Virginia is skull fvcking marshall.... so four of the 16 teams in the tourney left are big 12 teams...... looks like the conference was as solid as we thought..... and we still haven't gotten it done.

What is a&m's history in the NCAA basketball tourney?

I'm not a mathematician but this ESPN site info combined with the SECSECSEC site below that don't make no sense:

http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/tournament/history/_/team1/7620
Texas A&M Aggies
Tournament Appearances: 13
Final Fours: 0
Championships: 0
Win-Loss: 11-14

https://www.seccountry.com/texas-am/texas-am-basketball-ranking-all-13-ncaa-tournament-wins
(excerpt):
"Texas A&M is in the Sweet Sixteen for the sixth time in school history."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_A&M_Aggies_men's_basketball#NCAA_Tournament_results
"The Aggies have appeared in the NCAA Tournament 14 times. Their combined record is 13–14."

>I don't know what that 13 appearances with 11-14 win/loss means vs. 14 appearances and 13-14 record? Looks like maybe six Sweet Sixteens, no Final Fours, and so no Elite Eights either?
Any Aggies have any better info?

ESPN hasn't updated the records with results (or appearances) from this year's tourney. The SEC site and Wiki are accurate.

No Elite Eights, pending the result of their next game. Here's how close they got in 2007:

That was the identity of that team all season. They could beat anybody they played....and lose spectacularly to anyone. Glad it's over...

Kentucky was not great this year. A&M lost by 1 to them in Lexington and blew them out at Reed. (score tightened in last minute due to inability to shoot foul shots.)

I think they were almost all freshmen. And really not great. (for Kentucky)

Haha aggy got curb stomp and Loyola going to the elite 8 crazy
Anybody else still shocked over k state beating kentucky?

Where's our wildcat fan. Stoned out of her tree?

LOL. How did I know that post was coming?

I'm actually a little curious too. In the past 20 hours or so I've visited about every free board I've ever seen 123 post to these past several years and nary a word. Hope no news is good news. Party on!

Considering that KSU's best player was injured and barely played as well as the fact the refs looked like they were on the take, I'm pretty surprised.

What blew my mind was k st had like 5 dues foul out and still managed to get the win.

I don't know if any of you are watching WV, but, they are getting hosed by the refs. Also, Konate for WV just had a monster block (and I mean monster block) on what the Nova player thought was a runaway dunk. This will be a highlight for the rest of the tourney.

Dude, wvu got hosed big time. That big man of theirs is a beast.

So 3 teams from the big 12 made the elite 8.

I fvcking refuse to root for our conference like aggy does, but we obviously had the strongest basketball conference this year.

Yep. I take back my slamming of the Big 12 as being overrated. Not the firs/last time I have been wrong.

I know I'm in the minority here but I want the Big XII to win it all. But it wouldn't surprise me if the Big XII went 0/3. At least this time we won't have OK to stink up the place.

TT beat the number two seed can they beat number 1? I saw the .Purdue game they embarrassed them.

KS has to beat Duke.

I have no idea about KSU/Loyola.

I'll get a kick if the Big XII places 3 teams in the Final Four.

I can never pull for KU to win anything -- not even a game against Duke.

I'd be fine with Tech making a Final Four in theory, but that's as far I'd be able to pull for them. But since we won't know whether KU is in the Final Four until after the Tech-Villanova game, I'll be pulling for Villanova in order for KU to have the strongest possible opponent, should they advance.

No problem with KSU winning it all.

When is Shaka going to recruit some guys that can knock down threes on a consistent basis like Loyala Chicago

Well KSU bombed out why am I not surprised?

KS and TT are going to have to beat outstanding teams to get to SA.
