Now ya know where it came from!

on August 8th, 1950, Harmon Dobson --- a bold man, a man with a clear vision, a man with a dream as big as Texas ----- opened this little 'ol burger stand at 2609 Ayers street in Corpus Christi. The price of the original Whataburger was 25 cents and the stand took in fifty dollars on its first day of business. To paraphrase Bob Slydell in "Office Space," I celebrate their entire catalog. I believe I'm going to go out and get me a double meat Whatburger with cheese, jalapenos, an order of fries and a Coke.

Lynn Dobson was the best UNO player I've ever seen. She used to kick my teeth in when I was a teenager. My girlfriend in HS would babysit her granddaughters all the time. We'd go play UNO with her on Sundays from time to time. She had a 10 carat diamond cocktail ring she always wore. The thing was the size of a nickel!

Dang dude, who don’t you know in this world? o_O
Oh, and I forgot, I left my pink toothbrush and loofah at your house last night. I’ll be dropping by unannounced some time to pick them up.

Hey Long . . . Are you in Phoenix or just your cousins? I'm out here in Phoenix too . . . Always looking for more Horns to watch the games with.

No I’m in Houston I go up there at least once a year. Was up there 2nd week of November stayed in Scottsdale ended up going to some cool bars over there. Ever been to Little Miss BBQ? It’s supposed to be as good as Texas Q but I never got a chance to go.

I'm a Whataburger guy. I've never eaten at In-n-Out. They are expanding to the Houston area, and when the opportunity presents itself, I'll try In-n-Out. For me though, they've got a tall order to top Whataburger though. And by the way, I'm headed to WB right now for lunch! #2 with cheese and jalapenos is what I always order.

I was trying to decide Flying Saucer or Whataburger!! Decisions.

Yeah, Little Miss BBQ is great. Get there early and be prepared to wait in line a while. The Thirsty Lion at Tempe MarketPlace is the UT Alumni Bar in Phoenix. Always have the game even if LHN. It's about 5 miles from Little Miss BBQ.

I'm up in north Phoenix and usually go to The Sand Bar on Tatum. One of the managers is a UT guy so the game is always on except if LHN. Then I go to the Lion.

Probably the Burger King shut itself down with piss poor hamburgers, ever since they abandon the chain grill and started microwaving I quit, Burger king has never made it in Corpus, When I was growing up in Austin, I used to go to the Hut for Hamburger or Holiday House, or some old timers may remember 2J Hamburgers or the Frisco out on Burnet Rd....

I can only speak about the in and out burger in Bew Braunfels because I drive by it everyday but they do an awful lot of business at that place. Seems like there’s always a long line

Didn't know you were in the sand box. I'm there quite a bit. We used to love going to "My big fat Greek restaurant" for dinner and then we'd go party at saddle ranch after. I usually stay over at the talking stick stick resort.

Funny guy. I've been fortunate, man. I'm leading a pretty interesting life that has tangential contacts all over the world. Of course, as MM knows, one of my business partners is basically one of the most famous athletes of all time. So that helps.

7’2” famous?

Whataburger is tops by far in my category. In N Out is better in California than Texas. I wish they would expand Whataburger to Cali so they can get a taste of a real burger.

If you're wondering what In and Out is all about....get yourself a bottle of thousand island dressing, order a Whataburger Jr. plain and dry, add thousand island to the burger, dump the fries in the trash. You have just experienced In and Out.

Me and Mark May are 5 Guys fans....

My favorite burger place is this place in New Braunfels called TJ's. That is my favorite place for a burger. In San Antonio it's Big Mike's. I also like Red Robin's for their Onion Rings.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Fudruckers. I love their Buffalo Burger.

However if this topic is a simple comparison of fast food burger joints, then Whataburger is tops.

I may get roasted for this but I’m a big Arby’s fan and am still grieving them shutting their New Braunfels location down. I am hopeful though, since Arby’s parent company bought Sonic a couple of months ago, that they are going to buy a location out here on the north side of NB.

Glad there's not a "dislike" function on here...because Whataburger is meh as hell to me. Never got the hype. (Not a fan of In-N-Out either.)
