OT: Whataburger

Glad there's not a "dislike" function on here...because Whataburger is meh as hell to me. Never got the hype. (Not a fan of In-N-Out either.)
You've just been written out of my will and are off the Xmas list permanently.

I may get roasted for this but I’m a big Arby’s fan and am still grieving them shutting their New Braunfels location down. I am hopeful though, since Arby’s parent company bought Sonic a couple of months ago, that they are going to buy a location out here on the north side of NB.
Ate at arby's one time in my entire life as I was leaving some podunk town in north Carolina and headed to catch a flight out of Raleigh. There was nothing else around, I was starving, and there was no decent food at the raleigh airport...... long time ago...waiting for my plane I puked, almost sh!t myself while puking, was able to get planted on the toilet before I sh!t myself and continued to puke directly onto the stall door. I pounced two beers to try and settle my stomach, puked again, and puked on the flight from there to Atlanta. I was so sick when I got to Atlanta, I had my flight switched to the next day and stayed in Atlanta at the airport hotel.

Arby's can kiss my ass with their tongue out.

Sadly here in the land of dust and lust, there are no Whataburgers. Whenever I get back to God's country, it's one of the first places I hit. That said, I love In-N-Out. Far superior to any other fast food burger around here. I mean, c'mon, they're going up against Burger King, McDs, Wendy's, Sonic, Jack in the Box....you get the idea, the bar isn't very high. At In-N-Out the crew is always clean and professional and they have never yet screwed up my order.

Last year, we drove through Florida and I made sure the kids got their first taste of Whataburger in Tallahassee. They gave it thumbs up....

Closest Whataburger to you is Kingman, AZ. If you ever go to Hoover Dam, might as well cruise down there to Whataburger.

Usually when people start comparing burger joints they put fast food against actual burger joints. Whataburger is fast food don’t put it against the likes of Christians Tailgate or some burger place that has pretzel bread as a bun. It’s not one in the same.

TJ's is solid. Always has been. Good people over there that own it too.

But if I may... next time you're here in NB, go to Float house. Have a burger. No need to thank me.

My favorite burger place is this place in New Braunfels called TJ's. That is my favorite place for a burger. In San Antonio it's Big Mike's. I also like Red Robin's for their Onion Rings.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Fudruckers. I love their Buffalo Burger.

However if this topic is a simple comparison of fast food burger joints, then Whataburger is tops.

NB blah blah. There's a place out in the middle of nowhere near Luchenbach called Alamo Springs Cafe that'll kick all that ass.

One other place that I have to add, and it goes back to me eating there as a kid, is Taco Bueno. IMO they have the BEST Mexican fast food out there. It makes Taco Bell and other Mexican fast food joints taste like dog food. Whenever I go to DFW and Oklahoma, a visit to Taco Bueno is a must! Taco Bueno is the "Whataburger" of Mexican fast food.

Next MM is going to tell us he misses raising the little flag and ordering sopapillas at Pancho's.

Nothing beats Taco Cabana at four in the morning when you're trying to figure out where in the hell you're at!

exactly right Metcalf....and sorry MM....I prefer Taco Bell to Taco Bueno because they dont even pretend to be mexican food, which Taco Bueno is a very far cry from.

When I was a teenager taco bell used to have all you could eat taco night on wed or Tues or something. Me and a couple of my football buddies went one night and just destroyed the place. I think I ate 20 crispy tacos. I used the guest bathroom the next morning. Myentire family forbade me from eating at taco bell ever again.

Totally disagree. There absolutely NO comparison between Taco Bell and Taco Bueno. Taco Bueno blows Taco Bell away. That's like comparing Whataburger to McDonalds.

Didn't know you were in the sand box. I'm there quite a bit. We used to love going to "My big fat Greek restaurant" for dinner and then we'd go party at saddle ranch after. I usually stay over at the talking stick stick resort.

Yup, not far from me at all. Next time you're in north Phoenix let me know. Buy ya a whiskey!

You've just been written out of my will and are off the Xmas list permanently.

I have two different Arby's in my area and have eaten at both several times. I would say the Arby's you got sick from had it's own thing going that day.

Are you asking me to be unfaithful to my wife?

Okay, if no one finds out about it I will give my money to this whore, but she better be worth it.

I'm about to throw down the gloves for you people arguing about Mexican food.

1. Taco Bueno, tacos are good but they put too much lettice in their crispy taco and not enough meat.
2. Taco bell is good when they are cheap, they suck if you are paying 1.50 for a crispy taco.

I'm down here in San Antonio. If you want to talk Mexican food I am the authority.

1. Best Mexican place on the respectable side of town. Los Barrios off Redland Road
2. Best Mexican on the shady side, It's a Tie between Patty's taco House on Hackberry and Mittman's Fine Food on Mittman Rd
3. Best Mexican in between is Thousand Oaks Cafe, also my favorite place for Breakfast tacos.
4. Best greesy spoon for breakfast tacos is Grumpy's off of Nacogdoches. in Garden Ridge.
5. Best Tamales, Rubens off Rigsby .
6. Best Mexican on the River Walk is Rio Rio.
7. Best Mexican Chain "L Taco"

No mention of Rosario's? My favorite Mexican food place on the Riverwalk is Casa Rio. Their chili con carne is outstanding.

Just tried Five Guys for the first time. You boys have got to be shitting me. I'll take In-N-Out and Whataburger over them any day of the week. Damned near broke a tooth on a bone chip in the meat. Beef patties were tasteless. Fries were very good but c'mon, two cheeseburgers, two regular fries and two regular drinks cost $32? I get the same combos at In-N-Out for half that. Now I've tried it, let me give you all a tip, if you're ever in the Bay Area, find a Nation's Hamburgers. Cheeseburger, fries, coke and get a slice of their pie....thank me later....

Damn, in and out burger here in New Braunfels dang near shut the Burger King down across the street from it.

In South Reno there was a Burger King that did pretty fair business for years. Then about ten years ago In-N-Out set up right across the street. I can drive by there anytime and the line at In-N-Out winds through their parking lot. The drive thru at Burger King might have a car in it. That many taste buds can't be wrong.....

In Russia, Burger King is the shit, McDonalds gets business and there are a few other American fast food restaurants, but every time I passed a Burger King, they had lines stretching outside the door.

Probably need to change their name to Burger Czar.

If your ever in Utah, find a Crown Burger, that place is amazing. Order the Crown Burger it's a bacon cheese burger with Pastrami or brisket. So So good.

Favorite thing on their menu is the Steak Sandwich. It's a steak on bread and it is so damn good.

If you ever go to Fort Benning, you need to find a place called 4 Winds and have a Ranger Burger.

Pound for pound Arby’s has to be the most bang for the buck? I know it’s not a hamburger but it’s just beef and cheddar. No fillers like big bun, lettuce etc.

I'm a Whataburger guy. I've never eaten at In-n-Out. They are expanding to the Houston area, and when the opportunity presents itself, I'll try In-n-Out. For me though, they've got a tall order to top Whataburger though. And by the way, I'm headed to WB right now for lunch! #2 with cheese and jalapenos is what I always order.

In-N-Out is cheap. Other than that.... Meh....
