Players vs Boosters

The players need to focus on football and less on the AD. The defensive players are stinking up the field in historic fashion. Worst thing any of them could do is transfer. Most/all aren't going pro and need the education.

Clearly, they don't see that they appear dumb, spewing obscenities at the AD.

It wasn't the AD it was the President which makes it even more ridiculous.

So what? OU had a pretty highly ranked defense last year,.......until the bowl game. Then what you are saying is during Big 12 play Venables had a good defense but his defense sure showed its ass in a huge way on the biggest stages.

I guess I would rather judge a coach on 12 years of data over 3 games in which my team had a -8 in turnover differential.

First, nobody that I know of being targeted. I've offered who I personally would target. The problem with bringing names to a table right now is two fold: 1. We have a coach. Pointless to talk about WHO we should think about targeting when you have a contracted coach. 2. It was chat rooms and media personnel that took Saban's name and ran with it. Guys like chip brown and Ketch got word that saban "might" be being targeted and the sh!t show began. The buzz created the mess and headlines that ultimately led to saban throwing up his hands and not coming. Why in the world would we even want to start that sort of sh!t show again? If you don't think insiders like brown and ketch DON'T read the posts on this board, you're crazy. MM knows this and knows that on occasion they will even reach out to members of this site if they think they have info. It's called journalism.
There are only certain types of coaches that will work here. The two that I am suggesting WILL work here.
So before you go making accusations, get your facts straight.

My bad. In that case I personally know of about 15 candidates that would cause aggy heartburn, if we land one of them.

I was also told that the players wrote a letter to the AD saying essentially that they are all there because of coach Strong and he is the man they want to continue to coaching them. I have also been told that numerous players have said they will transfer if Strong were relieved of his duties (though I have to believe they’d rethink that if it really came to that).

On the second front, the players understand that their best defense of coach Strong is to play better. Source said, “the players are saying to each other, ‘If Charlie gets fired it’s going to be our fault. Stuff we do in practice we aren’t taking to the field.'”

Was told that the players watched film together, independent of the coaches, and each player offered an honest grade of themselves. Needless to say, they didn’t like what they saw from themselves. I’m told they are determined to get better, to stay together and to not let the outside noise become a distraction. They’ll have a chance to prove it this Saturday (though I still contend that there are some personnel issues in the secondary that probably can’t be fixed this season).

I'm glad they are watching film and understanding how poor their play has been. However, these players are in no position to make threats. 5-7, 6-7, & 2-3 doesn't exactly say the scholarships continue to be earned or taken seriously. Worst case scenario, they transfer and we maintain a losing record.
