So how far down the list do the Aggies have to go to get a coach ?

No, cml is spot on with what he wrote. aggy is the definition of mediocrity. Always has been. Always will be.
Haha. Ok. Oohhh. What a burn. Your team looks pretty mediocre to me lately....wait. I take that back. Mediocre is much to generous. You guys just don’t get it. You are no longer the flagship. Mark my words. Your school has lost its luster. Period. Our move to the SEC changed everything and flippped the script. You guys just are too stuck in history to realize it yet. You guys are like the defense minister for Iraq during the Iraq war. It may be moving slower for us than we hoped but we are way better positioned for the long term

STFU. Get back to me when aggy wins something, anything, of significance. Get a life and step away from the computer.

"This honestly may be one of the dumbest things I have ever read someone type. We are getting ready to pony up and pay a top 5 coach (that’s not opinion, it’s simply a fact) yet we are “satisfied with mediocrity”. Wow. Just dumb. Maybe we get the hire wrong. That is for sure possible (though I doubt it and so do you if you are being honest) but this statement is ignorant"

Seriously LMAO!!!!.....are you 10yrs old? Are you a real aggy? AGGY has NEVER been anything more than a mediocre football team and I know many who are content with mediocrity and aren't afraid to admit it.....you on the other hand. Smh

aggy should own and embrace mediocrity. Its who they've been for their entire existence and will continue to be.

FSU is glad to get rid of him. They were tired of his nonsense. I’m tired of hearing about mullet head pimping his abilities year after year.

LOL.....LMAO!!!!! Aggy is in the EXACT place they were BEFORE the move to the SEC. Middle of the road in the BIG XII same as the SEC. Losing to TEXAS, Ou, and yalls BIG XII rival Tech is just interchanged with Bama, LSU, Auburn, Miss st, ole Miss. but keep telling yourself that being 21-19 in the SEC has turned the tide against TEXAS LOL. TEXAS will always be the "flagship" program in TEXAS so don't kid yourself about thinking otherwise. Yes TEXAS isnt the TEXAS that we are used to but they will be back a lot sooner than later. aTm on the other hand has never really been there to get back there. Just fact

We shall see. All I know is recent history suggests you guys suck really bad. And that’s factual. And good luck next year with all your losses and transfers. Maybe you can beat Kliff

Jimbo isn’t a great coach, but he’s good. Probably top 15-20 type. It would be a great get for A&M if they pull it off.

Wait a second there are still Aggies that believe this? I mean I get it if it was 2011 or something but A&M just finished fifth in their division of their conference and like eighth overall for the fourth straight year. At what point do you realize you’re still the same program as always and a conference label won’t change that?

Thanks for the "good luck next year"......same to you guys......i mean good luck against LSU and Miss st.

You do realize the losses are gonna be because of the NFL draft and transfers because they have been passed up on the depth chart right?

Yep. I believe it for sure. It’s all about hiring the right coach. Clemson was mediocre forever too and for a long time. Definition of it in fact. But they hired the right coach. If this hire works it will pay off big. It’s not hard to understand. That was my point. I am happy to concede we have been mediocre for most of our history. Doesn’t bother me one but to admit that. But to say we are settling for mediocrity when we are pulling off this hire (when everyone said we couldn’t) is the definition of settling. We may get it wrong. Only time will tell. But the post suggesting we were settling was informant. If we hired Chad Morris, then yes.

And? I’m just stating facts. Good luck. You will need it. And yes I realize you guys have a few going to the NFL after several years of little to none going. Fact remains. You will need luck to get to 7 wins

Well, we may have lost to Kliff, a coach who was the hot seat, but you guys lost to UCLA after being ahead 44/10. And it was on national tv for everyone to see. Oh and btw UCLA fired their head coach. Now what other games do you want to talk about?

Fisher is a good coach. He's not a great coach. He lost his QB this year and promptly lost 6 games. This was a team ranked #3 early in the season mind you. A great coach can overcome adversity better than that.

What has he done as a HC besides having Famous Jameis? I see a bunch of 3-6 loss seasons sprinkled in there. I equate him to the used driver in my golf bag I bought for cheap at Golfsmith. Somebody didn't want it. Notice FSU let him walk without a fight (ala Urban Meyer and Tim Beck).

Jimbo's record looks pretty damn solid to me even when you take out 2013 and 2014 (the only 2 yrs Jameis played at FSU).

82-23 Record as HC
48-17 Record in the ACC
9-2 Record against the SEC
5-2 Bowl record
1 NC

2010 Florida State 10–4 6–3 1st (Atlantic) W Chick-Fil-A 16 17
2011 Florida State 9–4 5–3 T–2nd (Atlantic) W Champs Sports 23 23
2012 Florida State 12–2 7–1 T–1st (Atlantic) W Orange† 8 10
2013 Florida State 14–0 8–0 1st (Atlantic) W BCS NCG† 1 1
2014 Florida State 13–1 8–0 1st (Atlantic) L Rose† 6 5
2015 Florida State 10–3 6–2 2nd (Atlantic) L Peach† 14 14
2016 Florida State 10–3 5–3 3rd (Atlantic) W Orange† 8 8
2017 Florida State 5–6 3–5

Does anyone know if there any top notch NFL coaches that might be interested in the FSU job?

Or

Is there anyone on the staff good enough that FSU may hire from within? I can't believe that there aren't any top notch hc's that are interested in the job at FSU.

I'd pay Bill O'Brien to take the FSU job.

Period. Our move to the SEC changed everything and flippped the script.

What script flipped? Looks like the same BS movie you were playing in the B12.

Aggy SEC
2017 4-4
2016 4-4
2015 4-4
2014 3-5
2013 4-4
2012 6-2

Aggy B12
2011 4-5
2010 6-2
2009 3-5
2008 2-6
2007 4-4
2006 5-3

Keep pounding that SEC chest but yall are the exact football program you were in the B12. Average.

Let me ask this, 4 years ago when M Brown was gone, would we have taken Jimbo? I’m guessing yes.
I'm not in that camp. We're talking about a 10 year 75 million guaranteed contract.... there're better coaches to money whip! If Texas could have landed a Pete Carroll or Nick Saban, maybe.

Some people like a life outside of home. And living among celebrities makes you less of a thing when you try to go to the Whole Foods or Gelsons or whatever. Could you or I make ourselves comfortable, even in backwards thinking Aggieland, with that kind of money? Sure. But some people cannot. Teams in LA are always going to have a pull for folks like that.

Clearly that's why UCLA has had one hell of a run. List all of the top coaches and tell me which ones coach in a badass city.

I hope it's 10yrs guaranteed.....that way when he isn't living up to what they expected in year 4 then you get to see the aggy meltdown for 6 more years......or when they have to pay him his remaining salary after they fire him. I could be wrong but aggy hiring coaches hasn't necessarily been there strong suit.

It doesn't work that way though. Lot of things have to fall into place for even a money whip offer to be heard. Seattle and Bama aren't going to let their coaches walk like FSU, and FSU wouldn't have let Fisher walk 4 years ago. Fisher and FSU admin have been butting heads over money for years and their relationship deteriorated. Not every coach is necessarily "on the market" in any given year.

Fisher already has the aggie ethic and should fit right in. I am less worried about now about him just because all of the recruits bashing him. He wont help at all.
You guys were ready to pull the trigger on Briles a few years ago. Give me a break!

I agree that the attack was weak sauce, but your retort is doubly weak. It was announced Briles was going to interview and then two days later it was announced he wasn't. That's hardly ready to pull the trigger?

Wasn't the point. He asked If we would be willing to money whip Jimbo, I wouldn't. Those are two guys I would be willing to money whip, they so no. Cool, I wouldn't money whip Jimbo.

Yeah and they offered Saban 10 for 100 million, bruh... You must believe everything you see on the internet.
Sorry "Bruh" , but I have that on good authority. What does Saban being offered 10 Million a year have to do with anything...except that it STILL didn't make Texas an attractive enough job?

Briles was never set to become the HC at Texas. Both artificial

He was told he would have to interview and be vetted....

No players are happy when their coach leaves, but Jimbo has handled this incredibly poorly. What is the deal with him wanting to coach the last game?

"A&M is going to hire Mack Brown in 2011 for 2017 Nick Saban money. It's pretty remarkable. Definitely going to be interested to see how this turns out." Nail meet hammer

To be honest.....it doesn't really matter who aTm hires as their next coach. All he has to do is come in and win 8 or 9 games for 10 yrs and he will have a statue by that collie dog. Aggy has a great tradition of being irrelevant and mediocre throughout their history. They are satisfied with mediocrity and that's what they are.....a middle of the pack football team......the same as they were in the BIG XII.
Unfortunately recent events don't support your opinion. 8 wins per year got the last coach fired. Mediocrity doesn't cut it anymore. The Fisher hire might work, it might not. If it doesn't, time to move on to the next coach.

It won't be that simple, lol. He better work out.
