Texas Recruiting

Addison is going to be hanging out with movie stars for a few days. I would say "safe bet" isn't so safe.
Yeah, it seems to me to be a dog and pony show coming to visit here as a diversion to hide the USC tampering ordeal. Hope I'm wrong.

I would bet that McCombs offered him a pretty hefty NIL deal while he was in Austin. That's pretty enticing in itself right there.

Lebby graded Manning vs General Booty and went with the one with more upside from what my sources are telling me.;) Maybe he was the most economical choice in these times we’re living in which brings me to another point I’ve been thinking about.

It seems to me now that a lot of teams are paying scholarship players or moving towards that direction with NIL, I’d be willing to bet that coaches/boosters will be quick to cut a player not cutting it or lazy etc. so alot of these underperforming players could be out of a scholarship much quicker under NIL than they were prior to NIL.

Also this pay to play mess is going to open these players up more so to being savaged on social media during the season based on how they’re playing etc. and probably rightly so especially if they’re acting stupid.

Maybe they are, not by me though. I think if they are now paid the kid gloves need to come off so to speak. In my mind fans of a certain college team shouldn't really make a habit of bashing their own players but if some of those players are trying to name their worth than they're fair game imo.

Have you seen the things people tweet at recruits who don’t pick their school? Or tweet at dudes that transfer? The gloves have been off for a long time. The money ain’t gonna change that

IT had an update this morning on Pitt transfer WR Jordan Addison.
After things had cooled off a bit after leaving Austin, they're back to watching this recruitment with "extreme interest", even after his official visit to USC.
They say there's a good chance he'll visit Alabama in the coming days, but Texas is squarely in the recruitment and they're "buckling up for a potentially interesting week."

Allegedly Alabama isn't aware of any upcoming visit.
In other words they are not offering as much money. Why would they though, they don't need him to win another National Championship.

Texas and USC need him to help dig us out the hole we're both in and give our new coaches some momentum.

Will Bama reign of Terror keep going with this NIL and then you have aggy throwing the house

Agiye Hall has removed all mention of the Longhorns on social media. Is it smoke screen? Does he know Addison is coming?

Maybe his enrollment(or lack of) depends on what Addison does?
I don't think so. From everything I have read and heard he's already a lock to come here. He's going to be on campus next week and he's going to take summer classes starting in June.

The WR room could be absolutely insanity. Add in the TE/RB and how could we not score 40 every game???

Worthy
Whittington
Addison (maybe)
Hall
Neyor
Cain
Thompson
Billingsley
Sanders
Bijan
Keilan
RoJo
Brooks

Who'd I miss?
I hate to drink to much kool aid at this point but I can see this team winning 9 games and having a shot at playing for a conference championship IF our defense is just average. Teams aren't going to be able to load the box against the run like they did last year. This offense is going to be a lot of fun to watch this year. If we can continue to recruit offensive line like we did this past year then Sark might have something brewing, with the offense at least.

I don't want to drink the kool-aid either because this skill position list doesn't address the abysmal OL issues or the __efense. But damn, it will take some serious creativity on the opposing D to lock down an offense with that kind of skill

I wonder if that many offensive weapons actually helps the OL? Can’t imagine teams are going to blitz much and if they do plenty of guys for Quinn to get the ball out quickly too.

Possibly, or they will think the only chance they have is to disrupt a young quarterback and make him uncomfortable. We will see both strategies throughout the year.

It's going to make teams respect the passing game a lot more. Last season teams knew our only threat was Xaiver Worthy. So they just loaded the box to stop Bijan and bracketed Xavier. I would imagine teams are going to have to play more 2 deep coverage which eliminates that extra guy in the box. If anybody is going to benefit from all these skill position guys I would think Bijan is the one.

All I know is the Kool aid is stupid at the moment, is this the best receiver core ever assembled?
We weren’t even this talented at the skill positions in our 10 year run from 2000-2010. If we do get Addison then that would be 2 guys in him and Worthy that are likely top 15 draft picks in the next 2 years.
