Texas Recruiting

From Bobby Burton:

It’s time for Texas - all of Texas - to marshall its “collective efforts.

Later today, the folks who created the Pancake Factory, Clark Field Collective, Occupy Left Field and others will join together to launch The Texas One Fund.

The Texas One Fund brings together disparate groups across all sports into a single, unifying force.

The Texas One Fund will focus on NIL initiatives for UT players in return for charitable contributions to the community. Whether it’s visiting a Children’s hospital, refurbishing school libraries in disadvantaged areas or visiting youth at elementary schools, Longhorns players will be more involved in the community than ever before.

**

Lots of folks are probably tired of hearing about “new” NIL initiatives.

Well, this one is different, especially for Texas. And I’d encourage everyone’s participation in it.

Every little bit helps and that’s why there are plans for small and large donations alike.

Furthermore, all of the aforementioned groups are committed to working together as a charity. That means all donations are tax deductible.

It’s no accident this is being announced right before one of our biggest recruiting weekends in recent memory.

Jesus that's a hell of a visit list... This game is going to be nuts

I can see it. Something different about him this year and he sees the numbers being put up over there.....

Probably why he can't catch a damn cold. Focus is elsewhere.

Kids that change their mind with the wind won't work out more often than they do. If everything has to be "perfect" for them to be happy they will end up being a cancer.

It would suck to lose a game breaker like X, but if he isn't happy here and is going to cause issues then it'd be better for him to move on.

Probably why he gets targeted so much. He's threatening to leave and Sark is trying to keep him happy.

Good way to lose games and lose a position group if true. Let his ass enter the portal now.

Staff did the same thing with BJ Foster on defense last year. Took until the last game of his lazy ass antics before they said enough is enough.

If X is pouting, threatening to leave, etc. then move one now. Don't wait. It sours the whole dish man.

Hudson Card is also expected to release an announcement today. He’s going into the portal and will be highly sought after. Nebraska, Wisconsin and TCU are believed to be among many P5 schools with interest.

As expected but good God I hope he doesn't go to another B12 team that has everything BUT a QB. OkieSt, TCU, and Houston will likely be in the hunt.

Best wishes, Card was a true Longhorn even though things didn't pan out the way he'd like.

Yea, I don't know why Bama and Ohio State waste their time recruiting 5'star players, I'd much rather find a 5'5 stud 3'star player who might be great than a guy like Bijan who is a superstar already.
Waste?🤣🤣 Bama has won 10 games for like 15yrs straight and multiple titles! I wonder why!!🤔

We have 7 Longhorns in the portal and more to come maybe? Does anyone know who would be next? I hear Xavier is on the watch list for potential portal. I think he waits out until after the bowl game to see if there is any improvements to the passing game. Looks like LB is another big need from portal. It's hard to make everyone happy these days as you have big time talent coming in to the program. The problem I see is can the incoming talent retain the new knowledge and continue to progress with coaching or do they flatline and stay stagnant. The running game at Texas is going to be the strong unit of the offense and then the Wide Receivers will feast in my opinion.

Every single school in the US of A will have 6-8 kids minimum. And then after every Spring game there will be another 3-4 kids minimum.

Fans making a huge deal out of this and dogging other programs are funny. As much as you lose in the portal, you can gain as much or more, LOL.

Texas got Ewers, Watts, Tucker-Dorsey this past year. Plus Neyor, who would've been a huge upgrade. The year before Texas got KRob and Oghoufo. These are players that had significant impact.

Texas will get another 2-3 guys this year that will be impactful. And they'll lose some talent as well.

The new portal is great especially for those stuck behind others that are more advanced and have put In the work and excelled with coaching. I know we have great talent on the offensive line now and for the future. My question is and I know this is unlikely but would you take the Brockmeyer's back if they wanted to come to Texas? Do they bring any thing to the table that our current offensive line does not have?

Josh Pate podcast predicts total free agency - it won't just be backups entering the portal, but EVERYONE entering the portal just to see what kind of NIL money can be had. Probably a little exaggerated, but his take may not be far off.

In a word no.
