Urban Meyer

Do you have a perpetual bruise from patting yourself on the back every time you insert a cleverly place passive aggressive trollish comment?
Hey I’m a firm believer in results and being held accountable I’m just saying in the new Covid normal we live in I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s given a little leeway. BTW I’m not giving Riley a pass. If you make 5 million plus then there are no excuses except the universal Covid made me do it excuse

Well Merry Mac's is closed so I will take that under advisement. My boy and I are going to the game with some Clemson boosters who will probably want to hit The Varsity after the game. Myself I just want to be somewhere I can watch the Georgia-Bama game tonight...

It won't be hard to find. They have one on every other street corner.

At one time, August National wouldn't let them do aerial views during the Masters because their is a Bojangles across the street.

I am not a believer in Herman getting fired either. He has a winning record every year he has been here and major bowl wins and undefeated in bowl games His players are receiving “learned hostility” from within the university which he has nothing to do with.

It's more of a salmon orange tie.

If you're in Atlanta, do yourself a favor and swing by Bojangles for some fried chicken.
The College Football Hall of Fame is also worth a visit. The entrance with all of the football helmets is really cool.

I agree with what you say. The china virus put the screws on the new coordinators, players and system. But, if it is even possible that Texas has a chance this year to make the change to Urban Meyer, they better not pass it up. May not get the chance for him again. Someone else maybe in future years, but maybe not Meyer. Catch 22. Before anything happens, coaching wise, this stuff with The Eyes of Texas and other things gotta be fixed, all the live long day!

Herman is an Onside kick away from being 1-3 and he’s career 1-4 vs OU. I don’t think it’s a lock he gets fired yet, but he better start winning some games.

I mean Kansas is the only game that I feel comfortable saying we will definitely win. So let’s say worst case scenario happens and we’re 3-7. They really going to bring him back? Especially if Urban is interested? Probably not

IMHO.....winners find a way to win no matter what....Losers find a way to lose...no matter what. Herman is not in that former group

I am not defending Herman, I just don’t think he will be fired

If Urban doesn’t take the job Justin Fuente is quickly rising on my list, and probably the guy CDC would target if Urban said no.

played at OU and was an asst under Patterson at TCU, so knows the area. 9 years as a head coach built that Memphis program to what it is today.

I think he’s been really impressive this year. He’s had 20 players and multiple coaches out with COVID and he’s on his way to 3-1 start only losing to UNC. To me that’s leadership. If we had 20 players out with Covid Herman would be telling us how “its really hard to win”. If we ended up with Fuente I’d feel pretty good about the direction we were headed

I am not questioning JF as a coach. But, Texas needs instant credibility with the coach. We cannot have a person who will not draw the best recruits to the program.
If the coach has to work hard on recruits, then it will make it harder to be successful.

We need a coach that has a consistently proven history of sending many players to the NFL.

Justin Fuente had 2 first round picks at Memphs and 2 at Va Tech. How many first rounders have we had the last decade? Hasn’t been many.

No one is getting fired in this Covid year unless the wheels fall off and it turns into a true dumpster fire. Ha, ha, mixing metaphors. Seems appropriate this year.

You have a problem.

25 million already rescinded in donations.

Season ticket sales are declining at a record rate.

The athletic department is bankrupt

The football 0rogram needs to be rescued now or this thing may not recover.

He's a good coach and superior to Herman but in a very weak ACC. Losing to Mack/UNC w/FSU upset last night, he'd need to win out w/a win over Miami and have a solid showing vs. Clemson. Unless he beats, Dabo or nearly does, BMDs won't open their checkbooks for him. Need a guy with skins as an HC -- if at all possible.

Where's the news report that donors have rescinded 25 million? Besides word on the street or someone said?

Listening to the big money donors and getting the coach with the flashy win is how we got stuck with Herman. Do you know Mack had never beaten FSU in his time at North Carolina? Go with the guy that builds solid programs. Not the guy that pulled the upset win once.

My point exactly....we need a HC for which nobody will have to be told why they are successful. Coaches like Saban and Urban do not need a resume. We need a name because the Texas brand has lost its charm. Needs help to build it up.

We're going to totally f this up again, because our fan base has this delusional concept of what our HC needs to be.

And that’s the problem some of you will have there are only 3-4 coaches out there that bring what you describe. Only one of them is there even a remote chance he comes to Texas. By some of you all’s expectations Mack Brown wouldn’t of got this job when he was hired.

And Mack Brown was not successful before/after Vince Young/Colt McCoy.

Mack was not good enough to make Texas a consistent powerhouse. He was consistently out- recruited in the most important trench positions.

Any coach who can seize the recruiting edge and develop that talent will be fine.
The recruiting is more important because it makes the development a little easier.

Oh come on. Mack brown was successful before Colt and VY. They just took him to a new level. Let’s not rewrite history here.

He wasn't. Mack would always lose to OU. I sat through plenty of those beatings. Vince Young made Mack Brown.

Greg Davis, need I say more?
Greg Davis was here for VY and most of colt to. Again let’s not rewrite history
