So how many chickens did we count at the half?

Good run and even more so with all things considered. The foul festival around 11mins left really took our boys out of their game and we simply never got it back. Congrats Miami, yall probably have the easiest final 4 path that I can remember.

Now, give RT the job and let him excel or fall flat.

P.S. John Wick 4 kicked a$$.

I didn't think they could beat us. But when you shoot 60% from the field and 90% from the free throw line you deserve to win.

Give them credit they played a hell of a game especially in the second half. They deserve to be in the final 4.

We weren’t gonna matchup well with UConn anyway. Miami certainly won’t matchup well that will be a double digit victory for UConn

When Hunter got hurt the game changed. He wasn't himself and we should have switched him looong before we finally did. Yes that was some baaad officiating but we also didn't rebound, didn't take advantage of our mismatches when we had them and honestly went into coast mode way too early.

Miami deserves it, good game.

Hopefully we feel this all offseason and make it next year. Kind of what happend to Miami last year.

i mean, good grief, we were 9 deep. we won the big12 tourney without a starter. i don't know if disu would've been the difference or not. but i would've liked to have had him.

great season. very memorable. we'll see how the coaching job plays out, i would suspect, within 48 hours. hoping for jay wright, frankly. billy donovan would also be nice. RT has earned the benefit of the doubt if neither of those guys want it.

great season, though. this team was incredible

ALSO...for those fans ( like myself it seems) loves a good kick in the nuts from Texas Longhorns sports... that game ODDDDLY felt WAYYY TO similar to a Texas football game the past 2 years lol. IN control all game and then just give it away in the end.

Let that stuff go. This team came from way behind against really good teams all year. They faced incredible stress not of their own making, and still balled all year. Dealt with all sorts of things and continued to be elite. They don't deserve the bad juju stuff you've got in your head

I'm hurt by this loss and letting it slip in the 2nd half by 13! We were 22-0 when up at the half did anyone not know that stat? And from what another poster said it felt like a gut punch like football.

Hats off to them to play the season with an interm coach through all the distractions.

Edit: still pissed!

Miami scored their last 30 points on 5 buckets. The rest were at the foul line. ****ing inexcusable for the NCAA to get away with that crap. Texas needs to back up the brinks truck and buy the best team from here on out, year in and year out.

**** Miami and their east coast bullshit. Texas needs to break college sports by buying championships.

My man, when you make 13 out of 14 shots, it's damn hard to outplay that. And that was my point. I made that post as I saw Miami starting a run. And it looks like it's going to end up being the run that wins it for them.
My man, they didn’t make a single FG the last 4:40 of the game. They won it at the free throw line. 27 to 10 was the FT discrepancy in the 2nd half. That’s not out playing IMO. The refs were awful in that 2nd half and decided the game.

We can’t get caught up with the officiating. That kind of thinking makes you soft. The free throw disparity was inflated by all the intentional fouls we had to take in the last minute. We also missed open shots down the stretch while they were shooting 60% FG and 90% free throws for the game. That was the difference in the game. Give Miami credit they made a lot of very difficult and contested shots in the second half.

So proud of our guys for a memorable season and a great run under some extremely difficult circumstances. Let’s get RT hired immediately so he can hit the transfer portal and recruiting trail.

Wouldn't this season be considered a top 11 in program history? Final Four 3x, Elite Eight 8x? Hopefully we can develope some sort of consistency.

This is one of the best seasons we've ever had. It's great we did some stuff in the 30s and all but meh. Aside from the final four team, this one is the best. Those other elite eights-- I don't remember ever thinking we'd win the whole thing. Certainly not in 90. The 06 and 08 teams were good but I didn't think we'd win it all. With this team, with its resolve and all it overcame, then the bracket blew open... even before the tourney I thought we had a shot.

...if disu doesn't get hurt
... if carr doesn't get Charlie horsed
... if Miami isn't just scorching hot
... if that one call just goes the other way

It sucks, but dang I'm proud of those dudes. And it felt good to know our guys were mentally tougher than anybody out there, and they showed it over and over and over.

No shame. And frankly throughout the game I was thinking Miami was a dang likeable team. Like larranaga, their kids seemed to not be turds. But man I wanted it for our guys

Go look up the early 2000's. Barnes had some really good teams.

I lived through them. Aside from the final 4 team, I didn't think we'd actually win it. As of about 10 minutes to go in today's game, I thought we had a dang good chance to win it all. Also the big 12 wasn't then what it is now.

It was disappointing thst the game got away from us in the final minutes.

But hey after 13 years of frustration it felt great to have such a good season.

Once the refs decided to interject themselves into the game and call every little foul they could find it flipped the momentum. We couldn't get rolling after that because they would stop the game for a foul every 30 seconds. Our strength is in transition and having depth on the bench. Both of those things didn't matter when the refs wouldn't let the players play.

Facts the stats in the first half our bench had 22 points to Miami 5.

Surprised he got a 5 year deal. Probably had to do that given some other interest. Fairly low salary. Texas can pull the plug pretty easily if they need to.

Now give Ogden and Donnewald nice raises to stay.

There is also a guard from UNC who entered the portal yesterday who was a 5*. Wonder if we would be interested.
