Yes, the obvious answer is that each of these countries is afraid of what israel can do to them in a military context. primarily because neither lebanon no iran has a modern military capable of waging war with israel. So it's all posturing on their part. they certainly dont need the US to defend against middle eastern countries.

Speaking of attrition, russia is battling ukraine with grandpas, murderers and rapists. he's now having to consript people who have been charged with egregious crimes but not yet been convicted in court. if they join the army, they will have all charges dismissed. This is the attrition that is causing such desperation by comrade putin.
Putin is on record recognizing the power dynamic of nato and how much more of a capable military they are than what russia is capable of. He's on record talking about just the US defense spending alone makes up something like 35% of all world military spending and russia is 3.5%. he knows full well that nato is fully capable of destroying russia's ability to wage war with them without the use of nukes. "So are we going to war with nato with kind of ratio? It's just nonsense"- that's a direct quote from him.
From a conventional standpoint, we, him, me, you, nato- everyone knows the balance of power is tilted to the extreme toward nato. from the size of the military to the amount and quality equipment and production capacity. And nato doesnt have the need to conscript 50 yr old alcoholics and convicts to the front. I used to live in russia, you think the US has a low percentage of fighting capable people from 18-35? lol man, it's way way lower in russia. the quality of soldier over there is different. sure yeah they have special forces like everyone else. but the quality diminishes significantly after that. that's why they struggle so much with a ukraine military about on par with mexico.
what he does have is a nuclear deterrent. to deter from what i dont know, nobody wants to occupy russia or to annihilate them. they arent that important or strategically significant. but without the threat of nuclear oblivion, there'd be no need for this level of posturing. he's posturing for terms of an eventual cease fire and end to hostilities that would be as beneficial as possible to russia. his only leverage is the promise of escalating tensions, and involving nato into the conflict he started. He's made several 'red line' comments that we have since crossed, and there's been no retaliation, just more threats. though i think it's a bit troubling how fondly some people seem to be speaking of putin, almost praising him in a way.
speaking of worldwide gdp, texas has a higher gdp than russia. just texas alone. and russia has nearly 500% more poeople than texas, if that gives you any impression of how efficient the russian economy is.

The whole point i am making with this and other posts is to illustrate the position russia is in, they dont have much leverage. and they are being embarrassed on the battle field by a bunch of old out of shape ukrainians. and they are becoming more desperate to save face. using soviet era tanks and unreliable north korean munitions. which only comes to show how they would fare in a real war with a real modern, and well equipped military alliance. and he knows it.

Israel is a Western country in the East with a huge gas field off the coast. The East Med pipeline has been constructed. All they need to do to supplant Russia as Europe's main supplier is to expand the capacity, drill more, and undercut Russia's price, which they will do. To underestimate Russia is stupid. They may not have the trans warriors or fat camps that we do but they do have people who are hardened by poverty. They are tougher than the Western soldiers. As sophisticated no, but their average soldier is thin, strong, and survives on much less than the newly minted marines from the latest fat camp. How do I know this, last week a marine recruit asked to swim with my son's swim team to get in shape, but he couldn't do it. I felt bad for him when pre-teens lapped him in the pool.
