How did we miss this quote?

#TCU HC Gary Patterson with further comments about why Zach Evans' workload paled in comparison to Bijan Robinson's on Saturday.

"I would never do 35 carries like they did for the guy at Texas [Robinson] if you want to last four years…[Evans] does need more touches, though."

The pettiness from this ****ing clown is unrivaled.

TCU plays OK this Saturday. If they want to have any chance at all they damn well better give him the ball more than 15 times.

We didn't it was a separate thread on this quote I believe, if not thread, then it was listed somewhere in the comments section of another thread.

In terms of bigger doucecanoes in football, I'll go with Urban Meyer, I think you could put Lane Kiffen up there, not to mention Herman.

Those names are definitely in the running. Patterson is just so freaking insecure. The shit he said about Kingsberry to some recruits was douche of the highest level.

Well Fatterson, KK is coaching in the NFL and your fatass still can't keep your pants above your ass crack.

I agree with you, it's a shame that leaders of men cannot maintain their dignity as well as Mack Brown did, always a class act. I think if the worst thing you can be accused of is publicly campaigning for your team when you feel they deserve it, then you've done an excellent job by my measure.

I've gone back and watched a few of the documentaries put together on the 05 NC team, and Mack's approach was, "kill 'em with kindness" in the media, but have a whole separate behind the scenes mentality. It really let the guys relax and put all the pressure on USC - absolute genius on his behalf.

Against Tech, here are the rushing stats of their top two RB's:

Kendre Miller, 12 carries for 185 yards, 3 TD's
Zach Evans, 17 carries for 143 yards, 2 TD's

They need to feed the ball to these guys and ram the ball down OU's throats if they want to have a chance to win the game.

However TCU can't stop the run. At all. Soroderick Thompson ran for over 100 yards last night. That's 3 straight games that somebody has rushed for over 100 yards against the frogs. If OK runs the ball like they did against us there's no telling how many points they'll score.

I remember seeing this last week when it came out. On Twitter someone called him out and showed a game from a couple years ago where TCU gave Sewo Olonilua 32 carries. So I did a little digging and it's their 2019 bowl game against Cal. Somebody needs to show him this.

Bro how can you leave out Jimbo and Linkin Riley?? There each more than twice the douche of every guy on you’re list

GP was a chip on his shoulder coach. Now if you want to talk about unsavory characters I still remember the SWC days and coaches like Jackie Sherill, Barry Switzer, and most of all Ron Meyer, and yes Meyer was worse than Switzer.

Jim Tressell let the inmates run the asylum.

Joe Paterno need I say anything more? And this was the guy who talked about how moral and principled he was.

There were other coaches who were insufferably conceited Buddy Ryan and especially Jimmy Johnson come to mind.

All in all the biggest as***** of all time was Jimmy Johnson.

Say what you want about Jimmy Johnson, but the man won where ever he went. He's a hall of fame coach in CFB and the NFL. There is no disputing that.

Big deal so did Switzer. And JJ gloated not just about himself but he rubbed the other teams face in it especially their coaches and not being closed doors.

And players were not spared either. The last straw for me was in a 1998 playoff game when his Dolphins played Buffalo. Doug Flutie was playing for Buffalo and he had a big year for Buffalo. DF had a son with autism. And he had established a food line for charity for autism and one of them was a cereal named after his son.. Well the Dolphins won that playoff game and right there on camera he poured a box of Flutie flakes on the floor with a big smile on his face and in front of the camera. True story. He apologized to Flutie via fax. In his last game Jimmy Johnson lost 62/7 to a coach who didn't stop scoring. Karma.

Long story? Yeah but you really need to know what kind of guy Jimmy Johnson.

I could care less what kind of guy Jimmy Johnson was he brought my Cowboys 2 Super Bowls (which is really 3) and was a hell of a football coach. I'll take those kinds of guys on my side any day of the week.

cali, bag on Johnson all you want. I don't care. His success as a coach is undeniable. Players would run through a wall for Jimmy Johnson. He is a Cowboys legend! Love the guy!

You want to talk about character, or lack of? Switzer, Sherrill, Spurrier, and Ryan are at the front of the line and are all grade-A a-holes. You look up the word jerk in the dictionary and those four's picture is next to the word.

Just listen to the interviews with Irving and Aikman from when Jimmy was there and then to Barry. They said when there was Jimmy it all ran as it should. They knew he would drop your ass down a peg or two. Barry thought they could manage themselves.
I hated Jimmy when he was with the hurricanes but loved him when he came to the 'boys!

I think what Cali is saying is that JJ fits the criteria for this thread. For sure he won...for sure his players loved him, but nobody else did. Patterson is the same. Bad mouthing other coaches and programs behind their backs.

Winning is a subjective term.

He had a winning record as head coach of the Dolphins, but he took over a perennial playoff team from Don Shula and turned them into a mediocre team because he wanted to prove how smart he was. Also, when he went to Miami, the NFL was under a salary cap (unlike Dallas), so he didn't have an owner who could buy any player that he wanted. If the salary cap had been in effect when Johnson was in Dallas, rest assured that his record with the Cowboys would not be anywhere near what it was. Jerry Jones' pocketbook had as much or even more to do with the Cowboys' success than Jimmy Johnson did.

This is laughable. Ok, so you don't like Jimmy Johnson, but to try to discredit him as a coach like this is ridiculous. He's a hall of fame coach whether you like it or not, and nothing will ever change that honor. The man was a phenomenal coach, judge of talent and motivator.

So it's alright to mock the other teams qb and in this case make fun of his autistic son? So if we start to win big under Sarkisian and he does something like that it's ok with you. Seriously dude?

Hmmm...

I'm no huge Johnson fan, however...

1989 Draft

Aikman, Wisniewski, Stepnoski, Moose, Tolbert

1990 Draft

Emmitt, Gant

1991 Draft

Maryland, Williams, Lett, Harper

Most of the rest of the roster he inherited like Nate Newton, Jim Jeffcoat, etc.

They didn't go and buy a bunch of players.

Surely he wasn't mocking autism Cali, just busting on Flutie. I'm gonna be honest, I didn't know Flutie Flakes were for his son until you said something.

I don't remember this happening. I seriously doubt things happened like you're describing. JJ doesn't do things like that. I think that you must have some misinformation about this, cali.

Seriously? So why didn't any of the other coaches win Super Bowls back to back? They were working under the same system, and couldn't get it done. Wow. And while we are reviewing history - the only player Jones opened his pocket book for was Deion - who came AFTER JJ left the Cowboys. Winning is not subjective - there is a record that is in black and white. He got two Super Bowls as a head coach. Off the top of my head - Lombardi, Landry, Noll, Walsh, Shanahan and Belichik. And Johnson. One of 7, and those other 6 are some pretty stout names that I guess we should discount.

Look up the Herschel Walker trade and you will learn those 90's Cowboys teams were built through the draft and not free agency. You don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. Almost every single one of the main contributors on those teams were drafted by Jimmy and that Cowboys front office.

It's also no coincidence that after Jimmy left things fell apart for the Cowboys. Jimmy had a keen eye for talent and was a master motivator.

I'm missing the part where he made fun of his son? They crushed a box of cereal named after him. If they were in honor of his son, I think that wasn't the point in this. The crushed Flutie so they crushed the Flutie flakes. I see no foul here.........

The word "autism" is not mentioned in your link. This is why the world is in a mess today - looking for evil motives in an otherwise meaningless act. Strike one Cali. Go get us some better info or apologize.

All this being said I will acknowledge that Jimmy Johnson was a top notch coach. But his macho, chest pounding, I'm the greatest ego, his unwillingness to share credit with anyone was unnecessary. Now I respect that fb is only for mean and tough guys. And all big time successful coaches are arrogant to some degree. I have no problem with that. But Jimmy Johnson went over the line way over the line. And he was always like that.

The wiki link. Look under controversy. Then look for why his food line was established for people with autism.

The first link talked about him pouring Flutie Flakes on the floor.

I've read it just about an hour ago where I Flutie said he felt like they were stepping on his son. When I can find a way to post it I will. I feel strongly about this guys and I can dance to this song all night.

I know you think why do I hate on Jimmy Johnson. Well isn't it obvious?

You stated earlier that JJ made fun of the autistic son. That would require knowledge on JJ’s part that the cereal was created for the son. All JJ knows is that the box of cereal is labeled Flutie Flakes.

Did JJ know about the son’s background and connection to the founding of the Flutie Flakes? Provide proof. Otherwise, you’re just speculating that JJ made fun of the son and you owe JJ an apology.
