Ketch's 10 Thoughts From the Weekend (Consider me shocked by CDC's bold hire...)

Not to shit on anyone, or this thread, but RR Hospital nearly let me hemorrhage to death twice, following my tonsillitis procedure about 6 years ago. I'll bet their workers are doing great work right now, but in the past, I wouldn't recommend that hospital to anyone. Also, lived next door, basically, for 15 years, and heard similar horror stories. At least they helped get you straight, Ketch.
All I can speak to is the awesome experience I had on Thursday.

We have some good players. Have to get some good big players to challenge Baylor. It will happen. We have been trading jump shots for layups against BU. We have to change that approach. Anyone who has watched Miss. State teams knows that is how they play.
I wonder if his first major recruiting challenge is to win one of the two prized point guards from Texas in the 2021 class. There are three big time prospects from what I've seen and two are point guards from the Houston area.

Damn your wisdom teeth removal must have been worse than mine. I finally passed out when I saw the smoke coming from my mouth on the first tooth:eek:

I thought your Ron Swanson picture was Curtis Armstrong. Shows how out of touch I am with Hollywood these days.
I had three infections that required procedures as well and the broken jaw I've had for months didn't get diagnosed until I went to see my regular dentist about a crown.

I have family and friends who are medical professionals and I am downright scared for them right now and they all insist on going in. Even a Labor and delivery nurse stepped up to be cross trained to work ER after I ordered her into quarantine. She loled me.
All they know how to do is what they've trained their lives for.

Ketch I’m starting to get my feelings hurt you’ve ignored my questions three weeks in a row now Lol.
I hate when that happens. You're the first one in next week.

Thomas played an amazing game after re-watching.

USC had the best team on paper with two stud NFL bound RBs and a Heisman QB. I cant believe we still beat that team.

Pete made a few questionable calls on 4th down and throwing the ball versus running to keep the clock going was odd.

Our 4th down stop in the 4th quarter might be the best play in modern UT history, IMHO.
Certainly on the defensive side of the ball. Most of the other epic plays from the last 30-40 years have come from the offensive side of the ball or special teams.

I literally know nothing of WBB... can you put in perspective what the equivalent of this hire would be if it were men’s CBB or CFB?
It would be like hiring Kirby Smart, except Smart would have almost incredibly exclusive recruiting ties to Texas.

I missed the story, how did you break your jaw?
Wisdom tooth surgery at the beginning of the year.

There were all kinds of stumbling blocks and because I had three different infections inside the mouth, including one where eight bone particles were floating around in my mouth, the actual broken jaw never got diagnosed, despite the fact that I complained about it for months.

Goal line against Bama in 1964 Orange Bowl. Vaster INT against NU on the goal line in 2003. Fumble recovery against NU in 2006. But the 4 th stop when behind and in the Natty is special.

Only the goal line stop in 1964 really compares IMO.

Jaw wiring? What happened?

Somewhere on this site is the 50th or so answer re: the broken jaw ... Just do not ask, I repeat do not ask, if he was trying out for a part in The World According to Garp ...

CDC clearly had a Vic Schaefer plan in the works for some time.

Let's hope he has something in the works to replace Shaka. Punting and continually making excuses for a failing coach isn't a strategy.

It should give everyone hope that when he actually is ready to strike on these types of issues, he strikes with force.

General dentist or oral surgeon?

If it was a general dentist I would not
Be surprised. My first job after ut was working in dentistry.

One of the things the trainers told us was
To always goto an oral surgeon for wisdom tooth removal. Generals take on cases they should not sometimes.

Broken jaw from a wisdom tooth removal.

It was a very respected oral surgeon in Williamson County.

Credit goes to the defense too. I remember Matt Leinart after the game saying something like those guys were really really fast referring to our DBs. Michael Huff and company. Of course I would be remiss without mentioning how amazed Vince was with Reggie’s speed. But, dam we beat a team with two Heisman winners, a team that was on a 34 game winning streak and was considered one of if not the greatest football team ever. It was Kieth Jackson’s final game.
“ESPN named Young's fourth-down, game-winning touchdown run the fifth-highest rated play in college football history. The game is the highest-rated BCS game in TV history with 21.7% of households watching it, and is often considered the greatest college football national championship game of all time.”
But then everyone here already knew all this. Just fun putting that game in perspective. It wasn’t just a national championship, it was the greatest national championship ever played.

LT was running through us like a hot knife through butter and we stopped them on 4th got the ball back in Superman's hands. I cant believe it still made me nervous to watch that 4th quarter.

I assume you are running low on things to cover right now. Here are my ok/not ok ideas:

1. The new recruit for UT Hoops, Greg Brown. Seen his dunk highlight stuff, but can this guy really take over a game with an array of skills or is he more one dimensional like most of the other athletic bigs we recently had.
2. Who is the next QB after Sam in 2021?
3. More about the new end zone project and seating options.
4. Maybe you can get MM on an interview and ask a dozen questions. Let OB send you their list.
5. More about the new hoops building.
6. In depth questions with our coaches and recruiting staff about today's world of keeping in touch.
7. Get a dozen or so football team starters to answer some questions about how they are coping with this and staying in shape? Maybe some good personal questions about their interests. Lets get to really know the 2020 team better than usual since we have all this down time.
8. Austin is about to have a soccer team? If true, get the owners on OB and interviewed.
9. Start to highlight the top OPs history. Get some fun threads going.
10. Something with TH and OB directly.

Damn. Your case must have been rough.

Hope you recover soon.
Let me put it like this... the wiring might be the least negative thing that's happened.

I'm not in pain now and in the last 13 weeks, I've been in nothing but pain.

Good stuff.

Not really hurting for things to cover, believe it or not, but I'll write a few of these down.

that sucks, hope it's on its way to heeling soon

Nothing on the Marbula One final race from Midnight Bay GP yesterday?!

I'm actually excited about women's basketball. It's been about a decade since I've been able to say that. What excites me most is we actually have a chance to beat Baylor with this hire.
